Deputy Director of Academic Department (Mr. Soo Yeong Shen)
• Today’s topic for sharing is “Please study hard”.
• Students that are regularly inattentive in class, sleep during lessons and defy the teacher, contemplate about what you have learned when you graduate and leave the school. How will you be facing the challenges of society having gained nothing?
• In this era where technology is rapidly improving, what can we gain from studying?
• Studying can push your limits and promote growth.
• Studying can provide more options for your future.
• There are many regrets in life, please don’t let ‘not studying’ become one of your regrets. It is unavoidable that we will have good times and bad times in life, only through continuous learning can we acquire the good times.
Vice Principal and Head of Academic Department (Mdm. Ling Soon Ching)
• The first monthly test in March is coming soon. Students please make good use of the holiday to work hard and prepare for the exam.
• Congratulations to students who took their A level last year. The passing rate was 100% for our school.
• PT3 textbooks have started being sold at the bookstore. Junior students are required to purchase your books within this week. The Academic and Discipline departments will be inspecting books during lesson time after the Chinese New Year holiday. Action will be taken against students that do not have their textbooks.
• Senior 2 IGCSE (Cambridge) students are required to wear full school uniform during ECA tuition time, other attires are strictly prohibited. Action will be taken by the Academic and Discipline departments against students that who break the school rule.
• The Event of Chinese New Year celebration will be held on this Thursday (31/1). Both recesses will be extended by 10 minutes. The first recess will be start from 10:05am – 10:45am, whereas the second recess will be from 12:25am – 1:05pm. Students are to return to the hall after recess.
Students are required to bring the chairs from their respective classrooms, for classes student are not seat to as at the gallery are required to bring their own chairs.
• The calligraphy competition will be held on this Friday (1/2). It is compulsory for all students to participate. Please ensure that you prepare your own writing brush and ink. Recess will be from 9:20am – 10:05am for that day and school will dismiss at 12:00pm.
• Chinese New Year holidays will start from 2 February to 10 February. Lessons will resume on 11 February.

• Students who participating in the event of CNY celebration please take that rehearsal is scheduled for the last four periods of today (28/1) and the full released will be on tomorrow (29/1).
• Photo taking session for new and transfer students will be held at the VIP room these three days (28-30/1).
Head of Discipline Department (Mr. Sean Dominic Wong)
• Students please pay attention during the assembly and respect the speaker on the stage.
• The school has provided lockers that students may make rent for. Please keep your mobile phones into the lockers. Disciplinary action will be taken against students that are found with a mobile phone.
• Students are not allowed to leave the classroom without permission in between periods.
Students have to wait for the subject teacher to enter the classroom, obtain permission and bring along the pass card when leaving the classroom. Students that are found without pass card by disciplinary staff will be strictly dealt with.
• The school does not permit female students to wear makeup during lessons. Female students with skirts that are not up to standard please take note, students with skirts that are still found to be not up to standard after the Chinese New Year holidays will be suspended the discipline in front of office until they are willing to change to a skirt that meets the dress code.
• Students must line up when going to the science laboratories, computer lab and physical education classes.

• On the day of the calligraphy competition, senior students will be using the school hall while junior students will be using the basketball court. After receiving the announcement, all students must congregate in the hall for the group photo session.
• Students that are interested in participating in SASMO or Chen Jingrun’s Cup Mathematics Competition may obtain more information from Mr. Leow at the General Affairs office.

• It will be difficult for teenagers to adapt to society if they neglect their studies.
• Students tend to ignore or turn a deaf ear to the advice of their elders. In a society where the fittest survive, the strong will remain and the weak will be eliminated. Therefore, students should listen and pay attention to the teachings of their elders so that they may be better prepared to face the real world.
