Preface

STI Facts and Figures 2021 provides the reader with a wealth of qualitative and quantitative data geared towards recording the pertinent facts and figures on R&D, Bibliometric, Innovation, Awareness, Intellectual Property and other indicators related to Science, Technology and Innovation (STI) in Malaysia. In completing this invaluable source of information, both primary and secondary sources of information were tapped, the former being mostly from surveys conducted by MASTIC while the latter being information gathered from various other ministries and organisations.The facts and figures contained within are result of tireless analysis and compilation efforts of many committed individuals and it is MOSTI’s sincere hope that the information contained therein would be beneficial and informative for everyone, as well as the decision makers in the Malaysian Government.
