GOD’S WORDS FOR TODAY (Jn. 21:1-14) The Holy Gospel according to St. John

Jesus revealed himself again to his disciples at the Sea of Tiberias. He revealed himself in this way. Together were Simon Peter, Thomas called Didymus, Nathanael from Cana in Galilee, Zebedee's sons, and two others of his disciples. Simon Peter said to them, "I am going fishing." They said to him, "We also will come with you." So they went out and got into the boat, but that night they caught nothing. When it was already dawn, Jesus was standing on the shore; but the disciples did not realize that it was Jesus. Jesus said to them, "Children, have you caught anything to eat?" They answered him, "No." So he said to them, "Cast the net over the right side of the boat and you will find something." So they cast it, and were not able to pull it in because of the number of fish. So the disciple whom Jesus loved said to Peter, "It is the Lord." When Simon Peter heard that it was the Lord, he tucked in his garment, for he was lightly clad, and jumped into the sea. The other disciples came in the boat, for they were not far from shore, only about a hundred yards, dragging the net with the fish. When they climbed out on shore, they saw a charcoal fire with fish on it and bread. Jesus said to them, "Bring some of the fish you just caught." So Simon Peter went over and dragged the net ashore full of one hundred fifty-three large fish. Even though there were so many, the net was not torn. Jesus said to them, "Come, have breakfast." And none of the disciples dared to ask him, "Who are you?"

because they realized it was the Lord. Jesus came over and took the bread and gave it to them, and in like manner the fish.

This was now the third time Jesus was revealed to his disciples after being raised from the dead.

Reflection:

In his third appearance to the apostles, after Jesus performed the miraculous catch of fish, he prepared a breakfast and ate with them. John's prompt recognition of the Master - It is the Lord! and Peter's immediate response to run to the Lord - stands in sharp contrast to Peter's previous denial of his Master during the night of Jesus' arrest. The Lord Jesus reveals himself to each of us as we open our hearts to hear his word. Do you recognize the Lord's presence in your life and do you accept his word with faith and trust?

Prayer:

Lord Jesus, increase my faith in the power of your resurrection and in the truth that you are truly alive! Amen.

FROM THE OFFICE OF THE PRESIDE NT – RISK MANAGEMENT, AUDIT and COMPLIANCE OFFICE:

The Modern of Conduct School Peer Visit (MCS-PV) for De La Salle Lipa is on April 20-21, 2017. The peer visit covers the following area: Admissions & Registration; Human Resource Management; and the five sub-areas of Facilities &

Environmental Program Management (Regulatory Compliance, Environmental Education, Carbon Neutrality, Disaster Risk Reduction & Management-Emergency Preparedness and Occupational Safety and Health). This visit helps in ensuring that the MCS implementation will be a valuable exercise towards achieving excellence in the management of the network schools.

DLSP MODERN CONDUCT OF SCHOOLS

The Modern Conduct of Schools: Guiding Principles for the Stewardship of Resources in Lasallian Institutions provides a standard framework which Lasallian institutions can use to plan, organize, and manage their operations and resources. The principles and standards on key institutional processes contained in the MCS manuals, will serve as a guide for formalizing the policies and procedures of all Lasallian Institutions.

OBJECTIVES The MCS aims to:

• Serve as the Network of School’s “constitution and by-laws” in the discharge of school management, providing a basis for responsible oversight;

• Ensure the continued autonomy of schools, with the corresponding responsibility and accountability to uphold DLSP’s principles and standards;

• Promote synergy and optimization of network-wide resources resulting in improved process efficiency and

effectiveness, judicious management of resources, and consistency of stakeholder experience that uphold the Lasallian mission and values.

FROM THE OVCAD – INSTITUTIONAL HEALTH SERVICES:

Preventing a brain aneurysm What are the symptoms of neck problems?

The most common symptoms people with neck problems experience are:

Pain and stiffness

You may feel pain in the middle or on either side of you neck, but it may also extend to the shoulder and shoulder blade, or to the upper chest.

If you have tension headaches, the pain often travels to the back of your head, and sometimes behind your eye or even into your ear.

It may be painful to move and your muscles may feel tight, especially if you've been sitting in one position for a long time.

You may notice your neck doesn't turn as far as it normally does, for example when you try to look over your shoulder while reversing the car.

If your neck stiffness came on quickly, you are aged 50 or over. and you also have stiffness in both shoulders that isn't related to a recent injury, this can be a sign of a condition called polymyalgia rheumatica (PMR) – an inflammatory condition affecting the muscles. You should see your doctor as soon as possible as this condition needs to be treated promptly.
