Evaluasi Good Dairy Farming Practices pada Peternakan Rakyat di Karangploso dan Jabung Kabupaten Malang Jawa Timur

Peternakan sapi perah merupakan salah satu sub sektor peternakan yang dapat membantu pembangunan ekonomi nasional dan berperan besar dalam memenuhi kebutuhan gizi masyarakat. Produksi susu untuk memenuhi kebutuhan susu nasional ternyata masih belum optimal. Perlu peningkatan produktivitas melalui perbaikan genetik, lingkungan, peningkatan populasi dan tatalaksana pemeliharaan. Penelitian dilakukan dengan metode survey di wilayah KUD Karangploso dan KAN Jabung, Kabupaten Malang, pada bulan Mei sampai Juni 2013. Tujuan penelitian adalah mempelajari aspek teknis pemeliharaan sapi perah. Materi yang digunakan adalah sebanyak 34 peternak di wilayah KUD Karangploso dan 38 peternak di wilayah KAN Jabung yang memiliki sapi perah <20 ekor, dengan menggunakan teknik multistage stratified random sampling dan analisis deskriptif. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan rata-rata hasil kajian terhadap penerapan Good Dairy Farming Practices (GDFP) bahwa aspek pemeliharaan sapi perah di wilayah KUD Karangploso sebesar 2.81 atau termasuk dalam kategori cukup, sedangkan penerapan GDFP pada aspek pemeliharaan sapi perah di wilayah KAN Jabung sebesar 3.05 yang termasuk dalam kategori baik. Koperasi Jabung berperan besar dalam memberi penyuluhan secara rutin terkait aspek beternak sapi perah. Berdasarkan capaian hasil kaji GDFP dapat disimpulkan bahwa peternak di wilayah KUD Karangploso perlu peningkatan manajemen pemeliharaan yang lebih baik dari peternak di wilayah KAN Jabung. Penerapan good farming practices sapi penggemukan di PT lembu jantan perkasa Serang-Banten

Usaha penggemukan sapi memerlukan pengelolahan yang profesional untuk mencapai hasil yang optimal. Untuk mewujudkan hal tersebut diperlukan pedoman budidaya ternak sapi potong yang baik (Good Farming Practices). Good Farming Practice (GFP) menurut Department of Agriculture, Food and Rural Development Irlandia (2001) merupakan cara beternak yang baik dan benar, yang memperhatikan lingkungan dan memenuhi standar minimal sanitasi dan kesejahteraan ternak. Good Farming Practice juga termasuk di dalamnya aturan yang berlaku di lingkungan, hygiene atau sanitasi, kesejahteraan ternak, identifikasi, registrasi ternak, serta kesehatan ternak. Aspek-aspek utama dalam GFP yaitu manajemen nutrisi, manajemen lahan rumput, perlindungan sungai dan sumber air, pemeliharaan habitat liar, pemeliharaan batas peternakan, penggunaan pestisida dan bahan kimia yang berhati-hati, perlindungan situs-situs bersejarah, pemeliharaan penampakan visual peternakan dan lingkungannya, pemeliharaan catatan peternakan, kesejahteraan ternak, hygiene atau sanitasi, tidak menggunakan bahan yang dilarang, penggunaan obat hewan yang bertanggung jawab dan pengetahuan peternak tentang GFP. Direktorat Jenderal Produksi Peternakan (2000) merumuskan ruang lingkup pedoman budidaya ternak sapi potong yang baik meliputi empat aspek yaitu sarana, proses produksi, pelestarian lingkungan dan pengawasan.

Gap analysis carried out between dairy farming practices on four goat farms (Bumiaji, Pesanggrahan,Temas and Beji village) and good dairy farming practices concept, according to some references and FAO (Table 3.). There are three aspects that is not in accordance to Good Dairy Farming Practices (GDFP) in Batu City, an aspect environment (feces disposal close to the pen (<10m) dan two aspects health management (there is no separation between healthy and sick goats, antibiotics treatment during dry period). While, the aspects were not in accordance to GDFP standards varies on each farm. Famers in Pesanggrahan village, in addition to the three aspects as mention above, another aspect was not in accordance to GDFP standards, namely, milking frequency (once/day), meanwhile, three aspects were not in accordance to GDFP standards in Temas village, namely frequency of cleaning the pen (<once/day), udder disinfection was not done and there is no dry period, while goat farmers in Beji clean the pen once per day,

The relationship between the farm and non- farm sides of the household economy has been examined through the differences between the urban-linked and rural-based non-farm households in the procurement of lands, mechanization, use of farm implements, expenditure on farm inputs and hired labour. Urban-linked non-farm households tend to be able to attain land purchase more than the rural- based counterparts. With a small exception in the dry upland village, rural non-farm households tend to spend more on farm inputs and hire more external labour for farming. This indicates a situation where their income surpluses from the urban non-farm pursuits are further invested on lands, farm inputs and labour that leas to better farming practices. It is valid in most of the studied villages. Thus, it can be generalized that the development of urban-linked rural non-farm sectors tends to benefit the rural agricultural sector. This implies that under the absence or decreasing amount of subsidy to farmers in Indonesia, non-farm economy can be a source of funding for agricultural activities at micro level, at least for the procurement of modern farm inputs.

Kajian Penerapan Good Farming Practices dan Good Hygienic Practices pada Ksu Jaya Abadi Kabupaten Blitar Jawa Timur

Milk is one of the primary animal products that contain very high quality of nutrients. Perishability of raw milk should encourage farmers as producers to apply Good Farming Practices (GFP) and Good Hygienic Practices (GHP) in their dairy farms. Interview and observation have been done to 29 sample farmers in KSU Jaya Abadi (KSUJA) in Blitar East Java. KSUJA is one of raw milk suppliers for PT Nestlé Indonesia in Kejayan, Pasuruan East Java. The questionnaire was used as tool for observation and interview process. The construction of questionnaire was based on Guide to good farming practices for animal production food safety (Office International des Epizooties, 2006) and Guide to good dairy farming practice (International Dairy Federation Food-Agriculture Organization of the United Nations, 2004). Five important aspects of GFP and GHP have been evaluated i.e. (a) farm building and facilities, (b) feed management, (c) human resources, (d) milking management, and (e) farm management. The results showed that the majority of the farmers (82.76%) had less implemented of GFP and GHP aspects in their dairy farming practices. This condition associated with low microbiological quality of the milk based on Total Plate Count (TPC) test results from PT Nestlé Indonesia.

Studies on urban and peri urban agriculture in Zambia have not adequately tackled issues pertaining to farming practices in wastewater irrigation farming. The investigated the farming practices in relation to heavy metal contaminated wastewater irrigated farming at two peri urban areas in Zambia. The method comprised observation of crop cultivation activities at field plots located at intervals along transects established in the stratified land zones at the two study sites namely New Farm in Mufulira and Chilumba Gardens in Kafue. The results revealed that farming practices were characterised by traditional land management farming practices and traditional multiple cropping systems which were influenced by a combination of agro ecological factors as well as availability of heavy metal contaminated wastewater which has the potential to contaminate soils and crops. The farming practices were based on adaptation of traditional production systems to peri-urban wastewater irrigation farming which confirmed the results from other developing countries.

In Italy, some National Park develop organic excellence, such as Corte Merina Farm in Val Grande Park, Krauter Schlossl Farm in Stelvio Park, La Quercia della Memoria Farm in Monti Sibillini Park, Rinascita ’78 Cooperative in Gran Sasso and Monti della Laga Park, “La Porta dei Parchi” Organic Agritourism in Abbruzzo National Park and Majella National Park, Bio gargano Consortium in Gargano National Park, etc. Each site provides different attractions, traditional products and educational services. It is in order to strengthen the bond between the consumer and the farmers who promote agricultural diversity and rural tourism in National Park. The examples of organic excellence given here demonstrate that organic farming can be a valid way to reconcile the need to protect nature with the production of food and services, and thus income for farmers [10].

The Internalization Cost of Conservation Practices of Potato Farming in Serayu Watershed (Case study in Igirmranak Village, Kejajar Sub- District, Wonosobo District).

Environmental degradation caused by intensive potato farming on the upper Dieng Plateau has reached an alarming level. Farmers who intensively plant potatoes and other vegetables in this Plateu mostly do not apply soil and water conservation practices on their gardens. This is suspected as one of the main causes of high erosion and sedimentation rates in the watershed. These environmental problems combined with farmers’ behavior torwards soil and water conservation in their potato gardens require further attention and information on how to solve such problem. Therefore, this research offers some fundamental analysis on farm-budget under different conservation techniques, farmers’ willingness to accept in improving their conservation practices and potential of application of rewards for environmental services schemes in the upper Dieng Plateu. The objective of this study are (i) to evaluate the conservation practices of potato farming by comparing rate of erosion and farm productivity under different soil and water conservation techniques, (ii) to determine the Willingness to Accept (WTA) value to environmentally friendly farming practices for sedimentation reduction. The research involving 100 respondents was carried out in January–May 2011 at Igirmranak village, Wonosobo district, Central Java, Indonesia.

This study aims to determine the level and impact of conservation farming practices on farmers' revenue. It is analyzed by using a cross- table analysis tool. Singarimbun and Efendi (2008), cross-table analysis is an analytical method used to observe the relationship between two variables. This table can be made for relationships between influencing variables, variables that influence or between influencing and influenced variables. The table used was arranged based on variables that have a certain relationship between each other. The second objective is to assess the efficiency of potato farming. To analyze this objective, analysis tool was used. This research used the Data Envelopment Analysis (DEA) to analyze the technical efficiency level of potato farming. The technical efficiency level is limited by a score between 0 and 1. If the technical efficiency level is less than one, it means that the potato farmers have technical inefficiency, if the technical efficiency level is one; it means that the potato farmers have reached technical efficiency. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk (1) mengetahui gambaran pengetahuan good dairy farming practices pada peternak sapi perah rakyat Lembang, (2) mengetahui gambaran daya saing usaha pada peternak sapi perah rakyat, (3) mengetahui temuan mengenai seberapa besar pengaruh pengetahuan good dairy farming practices terhadap daya saing usaha pada industri peternakan sapi perah rakyat Lembang. Objek/unit analisis dalam penelitian ini adalah peternak sapi perah rakyat Lembang. Variabel independent (X) dalam penelitian ini adalah pengetahuan good dairy farming practices, serta variabel dependent (Y) pada penelitian ini adalah daya saing usaha. Jenis penelitian yang digunakan adalah deskriptif, verifikatif, dan metode yang digunakan adalah explanatory survey, dengan jumlah sampel sebanyak 120 peternak. Teknik analisa data yang digunakan adalah Regresi Linear Sederhana dengan alat bantu software komputer SPSS 22.0 for windows. Berdasarkan hasil penelitian, secara keseluruhan nilai perhitungan yang diperoleh melalui regresi linear sederhana bahwa tingkat pengetahuan good dairy farming practices yang dimiliki oleh peternak di Industri Peternakan Sapi Perah Rakyat Lembang berpengaruh positif dengan kategori sangat kuat terhadap daya saing usaha. Dengan demikian dapat dikatakan bahwa pengetahuan good dairy farming practices merupakan faktor utama yang mempengaruhi daya saing usaha pada Industri Peternakan Sapi Perah Rakyat Lembang.
