Al Ain University advances in the world university rankings to achieve 5 th place in the UAE and 650 globally, according to QS
AAU Chancellor enhances bilateral cooperation with the Ministry of Higher Education in Oman
Al Ain University (AAU) has been ranked 5th university in the United Arab Emirates, 19th in the Arab Region, and within the “Top 650”
Worldwide, according to the “2023 QS World University Rankings”, which reflects the distinguished performance of AAU in terms of educational progress.
Dr. Noor Aldeen Atatreh- AAU Chancellor- and Dr. Nazih Khaddaj Mallat- Vice President, Accreditation and Quality Assurance- visited the Ministry of Higher Education, Scientific Research and Innovation in the Sultanate of Oman with the aim of strengthening the relationship between the university and the ministry. They were received by His Excellency Dr. Bakhit bin Ahmed Al Mahri, Undersecretary of the Ministry of Higher Education, Scientific Research and Innovation.
Atatreh presented an overview of Al Ain University, the developments and achievements that the university has achieved.

Professional Development Centre Organizes a Workshop for Building a Productive Day Effortlessly
AAU participates in ProQuest UAE Library Directors Seminar
The Professional Development Centre (PDC) at Al Ain University (AAU), organized a workshop for the AAU administrative staff on both campuses (Al Ain & Abu Dhabi), entitled "Building a Productive Day
Effortlessly" facilitated by Dr. Zoya Waseem Shaikh–Manager of the center. The workshop was Experiential; facilitated through a series of activities.
Under the title “UAE libraries at the heart of teaching, learning and research: beyond digital transformation”, AAU library Director, Dr.
Abdoulaye Kaba, represented Al Ain University by participating in the first ProQuest UAE library directors’ seminar in Dubai. The agenda of
the seminar consisted of keynote speech, ProQuest Business update, panel discussion, and reflections on the pandemic post-peak period.
During the panel discussion, Dr. Kaba together with other two panelists discussed “applying library technology to empower students, faculty.

Sustainability and Environmental Measures for Engineers The College of Pharmacy meets the Training Preceptors to
enhance cooperation relations
As part of the American Society of Civil Engineers (ASCE) student chapter events, a workshop on sustainability and environmental measures for engineers was organized for engineering faculty and students. The workshop’s organizers were Dr. Abdulla Sharo and Eng.
Esraa Hijah.
Eng. Lubna Sinan, a sustainability advisor, and Eng. Abeer Abu Ali, a PQP certified Civil Engineer, delivered the workshop. The workshop was designed to introduce engineering faculty and students to the concept of sustainability, along with the main environmental measures in all development projects. Different topics about sustainability rating systems and standards on national and global levels were discussed, in addition to showing and discussing several real examples from actual projects related to sustainability here in the UAE.
This workshop was a great step into raising the awareness about sustainability and environment, and it is part of the continues support of the college of engineering towards its faculty and students in terms of knowledge and preparation for real life.
The College of Pharmacy, at Al Ain University (AAU), Abu Dhabi campus, has invited community pharmacy training coordinators and preceptors, such as; Medicina, Almanara, and Al-Thiga Pharmacies, to attend the second preceptor orientation meeting for community pharmacies across Abu Dhabi. The aim of this meeting was to orient the preceptors responsible for our students’ training about different community training courses.
The event was opened officially by the Deputy Dean for the College of Pharmacy Prof. Mohammed Ghattas, who welcomed the attendees.

International Islamic Finance and Accounting Congress
The College of Law and the Deanship of Student Affairs promote the values of tolerance and positive citizenship
Dr. Mosab I. Tabash, MBA Director and Associate Professor at College of Business, Al Ain University, participated as a Keynote Speaker in the 3rd International Islamic Finance and Accounting Congress at Hasan Kalyoncu University in Gaziantep, Turkey. The congress was held with the participation of 79 researchers from 10 different countries and representatives of the sector's top institutions and organizations in the Islamic finance area. Dr. Tabash gave a keynote speech on, ‘How Islamic banks behave under different financial shocks compared to conventional ones’. He also engaged with influential Islamic finance and accounting academicians, accounting and auditing companies, accountants and researchers from Turkey and globally. Which benefit the College of Business at Al Ain University and enhances the relations of cooperation between it and the various parties in the field of business.
Within the activities of the Central Community Interaction Committee in the Deanship of Student Affairs, and in cooperation with the College of Law, a virtual event was organized under the title; tolerance and positive citizenship as a way of life, presented by Dr. Shafee Al Neyadi, member of the Emirates Society for Public Administration.
At the beginning of the event, Prof. Ibtehal Abu Rezeq, Vice President
of Development and Follow-up and the Dean of Student Affairs, welcomed the lecturer and thanked him for his efforts to cooperate with the Deanship of Student Affairs and the College of Law.
In turn, Dr. Al Neyadi stressed the importance of instilling values in the hearts of students, including the value of tolerance and positive citizenship, indicating that positive citizenship is measured by actions and adherence to laws and regulations.

The College of Communication and Media promotes the concept of journalism responsibility among its students
The bridge competition to enhance the engineering student’s skills
The College of Communication and Media, in cooperation with the Deanship of Student Affairs at Al Ain University, Al Ain Campus, organized a workshop entitled, ‘Responsible Journalism’, with the aim of linking the learning outcomes in the colleges with extracurricular activities.
The workshop was presented by Mr. Barakat Ahmed Shalatoh- journalist in Al Bayan newspaper, in the presence of Dr. Rahima Essani- Dean of the College of Communication and Media, Dr. Riyad Jaljali- Director of the Communication and Media Program, and a number of faculty members in the college.
As part of enriching the student campus and academic life, and as part of the event of the American Society of Civil Engineers (ASCE) student chapter, the college of engineering organized the first Popsicle Bridge Competition for students. The competition’s organizers were Dr.
Mohammad Alhassan, Dr. Abdulla Sharo, and Eng. Esraa Hijah.
The competition was about designing and building a bridge from Popsicle wooden sticks and testing its efficiency live on campus. Ten teams from different engineering programs.

AAU Librarians and Faculty visit the Abu Dhabi Book Fair
Khalifa Library at Al Ain University organized a visit to Abu Dhabi International Book Fair 2022. With the presence of Dr. Abdoulaye Kaba (Library Director) and Ms. Lina Abu Libdeh (Library Supervisor). The visit was attended by Dr. Maher Hussein Haswa, from the College of Law, Dr.
Salem Khalil Al Aqtash, from the College of Education, Humanities and Social Sciences.
Raising awareness of Addiction in cooperation with the “Drug Control”
Awareness workshop on food allergy
Coinciding with the International Day against Drugs, the Deanship of Student Affairs at Al Ain University organized an awareness lecture in cooperation with Abu Dhabi Police - Directorate of Drug Control, presented by Colonel Mohammed Al Ameri,
The lecture gave a detailed explanation about drugs and the risks of addiction to individual health, family, and society.
The Deanship of Student Affairs at Al Ain University, Al Ain Campus, organized a workshop on food allergy (types - symptoms - treatment), presented by Dr. Mona Othman from Mediclinic Hospital (Al Ain Branch), ENT specialist. The workshop dealt with several axes, most notably the concept of food allergy, which occurs when a person's immune system interacts with substances in the environment. These substances are often harmless to most people.

A Workshop on Writing the Scientific Research by using “LaTeX” for Engineering Students
The College of Engineering at Al Ain University, Abu Dhabi campus, conducted a workshop entitled; Writing papers with LaTeX, presented by Dr. Nuha Hamada, in the presence of students who are interested in scientific research.
Dr. Nuha introduced the “Overleaf”; An online LaTeX editor for writing and publishing scientific documents.
