B. Course Objectives and Learning Outcomes

1. Course Description

In this course, the students will learn about the basic public and community health sciences, essential managerial and analytical skills including evaluation, epidemiological investigations, health systems analysis, research, ethical, environmental and occupational health and infection control practices. It adopts a discipline-based methodology based on core competencies.

2. Course Main Objective

 Apply basic knowledge and skills related to public health.

 Describe the design, conduct, analyze and interpret the results of relevant studies.

 Describe the chain of infection.

 Evaluate the different modes of transmission of communicable disease in a population.

 Evaluate the epidemiology of diseases.
