Background: To find out some elements related diagnosed with pterygium. Patients: 63 patients diagnosed pterygium and treated at of ophthalmologic of 103 Hospital and Institute of Aviation Medicine 7/2008 to 4/2009 (resident In hospital). Method:Cross - Obsen/ation study. Conclusion:

The rate of pterygium with the locations (right eye or left eye or both eyes) is not different Pterygium in hght eye (27.0%), pterygium in left eye (33.3%) and pterygium in both eyes - bilateral pterygium (39.7%).
Pterygium in the inner comer of the eye (in the palpebral fissure of nasal side) is the majority (90,9%). only 9.1% were double pterygium. The difference was statistically significant (p <0.001).
Pterygium primarily seen in fibrous morphology- fibrovascular conjunctival (87.9%). only 9.1% were vascular pterygium.
Percentage of eyes with the combination of various diseases with pterygium is relatively large.

Ethics committees were reported to be often involved in decision making around.
Conclusions: Payment to clinical research participants vary in Vietnam. Ethics committees have an important mle in developing guidelines in this area. Specific guidelines are needed considering local policies and regulations, payment models and their application in diverse settings, types and levels of reimbursement, and the rationale for diverse payment practices In different settings.
