The monthly meeting of the Woodstock- alt River Hehrew Cultural Circle, together with the Bnoth Zion, was held at the residencP of Mr. and Mrs. M. . Marh, Milner Road, Wood tock, on Tue da. night.

\Jr. A. J. Easker, \\ho pre ided, extended a welcome to all present, and particularly to 1he members of the Bnoth Zion, and the lecturer, Mr. Achron.
Mr. Achron, speaking on "The present ::-ituation in Pa1e tine," analysed the causes and the variou factors leading up to the present trouble.
The Yishub, he said, was wonderful. They had to work alJ day, and \\atch all night,
~md yet kept themselve under marvellous control. The Arab trikers hoped to tarve the Jews into surrender. but were dis- appointed. The strike was evidently financed ];y outside ~ourc s, and the Arabs appear d to he afraid to stop the strike, which :'hould haYe been declared illegal long ago.
