MAHIKENG - The discredited former Tlokwe Executive Mayor, Maphetle Maphetle, implicated in various “independent forensic investigative reports”, has been deployed to a senior position in the North West Provincial Legislature.
Maphetle, a teacher before becoming a councillor in the Tlokwe Municipality, was deployed as the Executive Manager Corporate Services at
R934 866 per annum, – a substantial increase from his previous position as Executive Mayor.
“The appointment of Maphetle into a senior position in the Legislature’s administration, without any applicable related experience, confi rms that the NW ANC Chairperson and Legislature Speaker, Supra Mahumapelo, is not only consolidating his support, but is also keeping his inner support circle very close to him.
“The DA will question the merit of Maphetle’s appointment into a position of trust in the Legislature and into a senior position for which he clearly does not qualify”, said Hattingh.

The aim of the camp is to empower young people between the ages of 14 and 25, by teaching them about fi ve pillars: Character building, leadership, social cohesion and outreach programmes aligning them with the Sport and Recreation activities.
“As we celebrate Heritage month, we wish all youth can realize the importance and advantages they have with a country and Province rich with so much heritage,” said MEC for Sport, Arts and Culture, Tebogo Modise.
“It is therefore, our responsibility as a department to ensure that young people know their culture and heritage so that they can preserve and cherish it for generations. It is for this reason that the participants
in the youth camp will also learn about national symbols teaching them about the blue crane, the springbok, and the protea - all national icons of South Africa’s fauna and fl ora,” further said MEC Modise.
The North West Province Youth Camp trailblazers will embark on an outreach project, where they will be doing their community service at Ikageleng Early Learning Centre, Ikageleng High School as well as Ke Barona Old Age and Disability led by MEC Tebogo Modise and Departmental Senior Management.
Opening Ceremony will be on November 25 at Klein Marico Recreation centre at 09h00.
