Confirmation submission information available
Purpose
To notify schools that information is now available on collecting, storing and submitting student work for confirmation in the new Queensland Certificate of Education (QCE) system.
Background
In the new QCE system, comparability of student results for General and General (Extension) subjects is achieved through a process called confirmation.
QCAA assessors check the accuracy of teachers’ judgments by reviewing a sample of student responses to summative internal assessments.
Schools are responsible for developing and administering summative internal assessments. They must collect and store student responses for each summative internal assessment instrument administered for quality assurance purposes.
The QCAA uses provisional marks to identify the samples schools are required to submit for confirmation. Schools submit these samples electronically to the QCAA.
Information
The QCAA has developed information for schools on collecting, storing and submitting student work for confirmation.
These PDF documents are available via the Resources tab for each General and General (Extension) syllabus in the QCAA Portal.
A combined document for all subjects will also be available via the Noticeboard in the QCAA Portal.
What you need to do
Notify subject leaders and teachers at your school that these confirmation resources are available.
