Complete these tasks in the QCAA NAPLAN Portal

Online & paper Submit applications for QCAA-approved alternative format materials: Braille, large print and black and white. 1–25 Feb  Online & paper — Enter and upload student details — Independent, religious institute and some Catholic schools. 9 Feb – 3 Mar  Online & paper — Verify and update student details — state schools and schools from each of the Catholic dioceses. 16 Feb – 3 Mar  Online — Acknowledge receipt of NAPLAN Online registration pack (includes grid cards). 24 Feb – 19 Mar  Submit applications for students requiring QCAA-approved disability adjustments to access tests.

Online — use of a scribe, extra time double, assistive technology or colour contrast modification

Paper — use of a scribe, assistive technology (computer template) or electronic format (interactive PDF)

1 Feb – 1 Apr 

Paper — Submit application to vary test dates due to gazetted public holidays. 1 Apr 

Online & paper — Acknowledge receipt of paper test materials. Request additional test materials, if required. 19 Apr – 5 May  Online & paper — Store test materials securely, from receipt until end of test security window. 19 Apr – 4 Jun 

Before NAPLAN testing

Online — Principal to complete Online registration process from 15 Mar 

Online & paper — Complete forms for school-approved exemptions, withdrawals and disability adjustments, available from the QCAA NAPLAN Portal.

Provide a copy of forms to the parent/carer and retain the signed original.

1 Feb – 10 May 

Online & paper — Prepare school security plan — template available from QCAA NAPLAN Portal. Feb – 10 May 

Online — Develop school test schedule and distribute to the school community by 7 May 

Online & paper — Prepare rooms for tests, i.e. move furniture, remove or cover wall charts. 10 May  Online — Ensure all devices have the latest version of the NAP Locked down browser installed; and that spare devices and

headsets are available. 10 May 

Online — Create Test Administrator (TA) packs for each scheduled test session. as required 

Test window

Online & paper — Start administering tests as per instructions in NAPLAN Online test administration handbook for teachers 2021 or

Test administration handbook for teachers 2021 from 11 May 

Paper — Distribute test materials daily, as required for each test session, following the official test schedule. 11–14 May  Online — Distribute TA packs daily, as required for each test session, following the school test schedule. 11–21 May  Online — Year 3 Writing catch-up tests must be completed by 14 May, in alignment with paper protocols.

Paper — Complete catch-up tests for absent students. by 14 May 

Paper (notified schools only) — Prepare completed Language conventions / Writing testbooks for early courier collection. 12–14 May  NAPLAN coordinator checks testbooks and securely stores them in preparation for return.

Online — All completed Year 3 Writing testbooks Paper — All completed testbooks

14–18 May 

Online — Complete catch-up test sessions as required and finalise all open sessions. 11–21 May 

After the tests

Online & paper — Post all testbooks by COB 18 May. Ensure Returned test materials lodgement form (provided in the test materials

delivery box) is stamped and scanned by the post office and retained by the school. 14–18 May 

Online (Year 3 Writing) & paper — Submit School testbook usage advice forms in the QCAA NAPLAN portal, if applicable. 11–18 May  Online (Year 3 Writing) & paper — Submit Temporary injury ― notice of use of assistive technology for the Writing test forms in the

QCAA NAPLAN portal, if applicable. 11–21 May 

Online (Year 3 Writing) & paper — Complete the Principal's declaration form in the QCAA NAPLAN portal.

Print, sign, scan and email to naplan@qcaa.qld.edu.au.

14–21 May 

Online & paper — Store test materials securely until the test security window ends. 19 Apr – 4 Jun 

Online — Complete administration tasks to finalise any remaining open test attempts. 21 May 

Reports

Online & paper — Download and check provisional data from QCAA Secure and/or the Online National Assessment Platform. Jul  Online & paper — Download and check final data from QCAA Secure and/or the Online National Assessment Platform. Aug  Online & paper — Acknowledge receipt of individual student reports (ISR) in the QCAA NAPLAN Portal Aug  Online & paper — Submit applications for report queries, missing reports and/or extra copies via the QCAA NAPLAN portal. by 17 Sep  Online (Year 3 Writing) & paper — View and download student writing scripts from QCAA Secure. by 30 Nov  Online — View and download student writing scripts for Years 5, 7 and 9 from the Online National Assessment Platform. by 30 Nov 
