Designing Competency Model
Problems To Be Addressed
Competency model can answer the problems of human resource required profiles both
in terms of skills, knowledge and characteristics in order to support the achievement of
the goals of the company. The reason from the companies who have implemented the
competency model among others is the relationship between the competency required
and the achievement of goals and business objectives. In addition, the competency
model can be used to predict the success of superior individual performance.
The competency model will very much assist the HR managers and line managers in
applying the human resources management system such as: recruitment, selection and
placement, succession planning, training and development of human resources,
performance management and compensation management. The competency model is
also beneficial in determining the maximum impact of human resources investment in
improving the human resources performance and organization performance.

Menjawab Masalah Apa
Model kompetensi dapat menjawab permasalahan profil SDM yang dituntut baik dari
segi keterampilan, pengetahuan dan karakteristik agar dapat mendukung pencapaian
sasaran perusahaan. Alasan perusahaan yang sudah menerapkan model kompetensi
antara lain adalah dapat dipastikan adanya hubungan antara tuntutan kompetensi
dengan pencapaian tujuan dan sasaran bisnis. Di samping itu model kompetensi dapat
menjadi alat untuk memprediksi keberhasilan kinerja seseorang yang superior.
Model kompetensi akan sangat membantu para manajer SDM dan manajer lini dalam
menjalankan sistem manajemen SDM seperti : penerimaan dan penempatan, rencana
penggantian , pelatihan dan pengembangan SDM, manajemen kinerja dan manajemen
imbal jasa. Model kompetensi juga akan sangat berarti bagi perusahaan dalam
memastikan apakah investasi yang sudah dilakukan oleh perusahaan dalam bidang
manajemen SDM akan memberi dampak yang maksimal dalam usaha meningkatkan
kinerja SDM dan kinerja organisasi.
