The aim of t h i s study i s t o f i n d o u t s e r i o u s e r r o r s i n t h e agreement o f p l u r a l - n o u n s i n a sentence ( t h e agreement between d e t e r m i n e r s and p l u r a l - n o u n s and t h e agreement between p l u r a l - n o u n s and v e r b s ) made by t h e t h i r d year s t u d e n t s of SMA K r i s t e n P i r n g a d i Surabaya. The reason i s , a l a r g e number o f s t u d e n t s s t i l l made a l o t o f mistakes i n t h e agreement o f p l u r a l - n o u n s i n a sentence i n t h e i r t e s t papers. To prove i t , an a t t e m p t was made t o p r e s e n t some amount o f e r r o r s under d i s c u s s i o n along w i t h t h e i r p r e d i c t e d causes and some suggestions on how t o overcome them.
The method o f t h i s study was a n a l y z i n g , c l a s s i f y i n g and c o u n t i n g t h e e r r o r s from t h e s t u d e n t s ' t e s t papers t o f i n d o u t t h e most troublesome element i n t h e agreement o f p l u r a l - n o u n s i n a sentence ( t h e agreement between d e t e r m i n e r s and p l u r a l - n o u n s and t h e agreement between p l u r a l - n o u n s and v e r b s ) which had been misused by t h e s t u d e n t s . The r e s u l t was t h e misuse o f t h e verbs i n t h e agreement between p l u r a l - n o u n s and verbs (31.5

t h e misuse o f t h e p l u r a l - n o u n s i n t h e agreement between p l u r a l - nouns and verbs (29.8 % ) , t h e misuse o f t h e p l u r a l - n o u n s i n t h e agreement between d e t e r m i n e r s and p l u r a l - n o u n s (19.6 % ) and t h e misuse o f t h e d e t e r m i n e r s i n t h e agreement between d e t e r m i n e r s and p l u r a l - n o u n s (19.1 % ) . -Based on t h e f i n d i n g s , t h e c o n c l u s i o n o f t h i s study
was t h e most d i f f i c u l t element i n t h e agreement o f p l u r a l - -
nouns i n a sentence i s t h e c o r r e c t use o f -v e r b s i n t h e agreement between p l u r a l - n o u n s and verbs and t h e e a s i e s t element i s t h e c o r r e c t use o f t h e d e t e r m i n e r s i n t h e agreement between d e t e r m i n e r s and p l u r a l - n o u n s .
