MEMORANDUM OF UNDERSTANDING BETWEEN
THE MINISTRY OF HEALTH OF THE REPUBLIC OF INDONESIA AND
THE MINISTRY OF HEALTH OF THE REPUBLIC OF UZBEKISTAN CONCERNING
HEALTH COOPERATION
The Ministry of Health of the Republic of Indonesia and the Ministry of Health of the Republic of Uzbekistan, herei-nafter referred to as the "Parties";
DESIRING to promote and strengthen cooperation of mutual interest in the field of health;
REFERRING to the Agreement between the Government of the Republic of Indonesia and the Government of the Republic of Uzbekistan on Economic and Technical cooperation signed in Jakarta on June 23, 1992;
RECOGNIZING the importance of the principles of equality and mutual benefit;
PURSUANT to the prevailing laws and regulations of the two countries.
HAVE AGREED AS FOLLOWS:
Article 1
Area of Cooperation
The Parties agree to cooperate and exchange of infor-mation, documentation and expertise primarily in the areas of health administration, maternal and child health, family planning, pharmaceutical, medical equipments and other aspects of public health according to their needs and possibilities.
Article 2
Cooperation among Health Institutions
Article 3
Exchange of Expert
The parties agree to exchange of experts in various disciplines as defined by the Parties through consultation.
Article 4
Cooperation in the Field of Pharmaceutical
The parties shall promote within their respective competence in both countries on pharmaceutical and medical equipment import export, research! technology transfer / training , Joint venture for producing of medicine, medical equipments and others .
Article 5 Implementation
The parties shall hold consultation and set up a Plan of Action in implementing this Memorandum of Understanding for a period of 2 (two) years . The Plan of Action shall specify the items of the cooperation, financial aspect and other necessary implementation arrangement.
Article 6
Settlement of Disputes
Any dispute between the Parties concerning the implementa-tion of this Memorandum of Understanding shall be settled amicably through consultations and negotiations.
Article 7 Amendments
This Memorandum of Understanding can be amended or revised. Either Party may request in writing a revision or amendment. Any amendment or revision agreed to by the Parties in
Article 8 Entry into Force
This Memorandum of Understanding enter in f orce on the date of its sig ning.
Article 9
Duration and Termination
a . This Memorandum of Understanding shall be in force for a period of 5 (five} years and be automatically extended for 5 (five) years consecutively unless it is renounced in writing by either Party giving 6 (six) months notice in advance .
b. Should this Memorandum of Understanding be terminated, the clause shall remain in force until such time when the implementation of any specific cooperation defined under the Plan of Action has been carried out to its comple-tion.
