CONCLUSION AND SUGESTION
4.1 CONCLUSION
The writer has stated in Chapter 1 that this research paper will discuss about type of code
switching and the function of code switching used by the teacher. The writer found that the
teacher frequently switched code during the lecture. The code switching analyzed by the writer is
conversation English as base language and Indonesian as the mother tongue of teacher and
students.
The comparison between the use of grammatical code switching and contextual code switching
found in teacher’s conversation are presented in the following table:

writer only used seven example for this research the table show that based on the gramatical type
of code swtching, the teacher mostly used intra-sentential code switching.
It is also found from the data analysis that the teacher used type of contextual is situational code
switching more than metaphorical code switching based on the contextual type of code
switching.
Whereas the reasons and function of code switching is used by the teacher is repetitive function
(3), affective (2) and topic switch (2).
4.2 SUGGESTION
Finally, after doing the research about code switching the writer get many knowledges from
some books and also journals about code switching. In addition, the writer can classify the types
of code switching and also its function in the classroom activity. The writer hopes that there will
be more students who make research about code switching. For those who want to make research
paper about code switching, the writer would like to suggest them to read many books and
journals related with their paper to make them easier in arranging sentences and also to have
good understanding about code switching. In addition it is important to read same type of paper
