How’s life? Thanks for the letter telling about your holiday activities. Here, I want to tell you about mine.

Last holiday, my family and I went to the beach. We wanted to release the baby sea turtles from the Goa Cemara shore.

Goa Cemara is located in Bantul, Yogyakarta. The walk to the beach was pretty far, but very shady. It felt like we were in the Twilight movie scenes, a great for photo shoots! We adopted 5 baby turtles. Each turtle cost 10,000 rupiahs. The baby turtles were just hatched. They were so cute. I chose my turtle and named it Anjo. My sister Fia also chose one and named it Wora. Anjo and friends were very skittish in the box, and then right when we set them in the sand, they immediately got still. They did not make any movements.

We entered Anjo in the race. We were told by our guide that before the race began, we should face the little babies south so that when they came out to shore at night, they would remember which way to go. Cool, isn’t it? And the race began. I could see how energetic they were. What I noticed was that when they hit the water and were pushed back by the waves, the turtles ran faster as if knowing what was ahead of them. They were just about to get swept away by the ocean. It was my unforgettable experience with the baby sea turtles.

OPERATION AND USE BEFORE FIRST USE

Before using your coffeemaker for the irst time, wash decanter/lid and removable ilter basket using a mild, non-abrasive detergent and water. Rinse each thoroughly.

Follow Steps 3 – 5 (Brewing Coffee) using water, to clean the inside.

BREWING COFFEE

1. Lift the lid for ilter basket and water reservoir access. Insert 4-Cup paper or permanent ilter into the removable ilter basket.

2. Add desired amount of coffee, referring to the Coffee Measurement Chart. (See Page 7) Shake lightly to level coffee. Be sure the ilter is centered.

3. Fill the decanter with cold water to desired capacity as marked on the side of the decanter (1 cup = 5 oz). To brew 4 cups of coffee, ill the decanter to the 4-cup line.

4. Pour the water into the water reservoir. NOTE: For easy and accurate illing, refer to cup markings on the water windows. Place the empty decanter onto the warming plate.

5. Plug the cord into the electrical outlet and turn your coffeemaker switch to the “ON” position. When the coffee stops lowing, the brewing cycle is complete. NOTE: The warming plate will keep your coffee piping hot until you turn your coffeemaker off.

6. After contents have cooled, carefully remove the ilter basket and discard the used grounds and paper ilter or rinse clean the permanent ilter if you use it. Rinse the removable ilter basket and replace.

7. To make another pot of coffee, repeat Steps 1 – 6.

A stranger dressed in bright clothes arrived and said he could rid Hamelin of the rats. At night, the stranger began playing a tune on his lute, drawing all the rats out of the houses and barns and into the river, where they drowned.

The Mayor would not pay the piper because he said that playing a lute was not worth the reward. He ordered the piper to leave Hamelin.

But the piper came back one day, and started to play his lute. This time, all the children followed him, and he left the village towards the mountains. Suddenly, a cave opened in the mountain and the piper and all the children went in. The cave closed behind them and the children were never seen again in Hamelin.

The culture of Asia is human civilization in Asia. It features different kinds of cultural heritage of many nationalities, societies, and ethnic groups in the region, traditionally called a continent from a Western-centric perspective, of Asia. The region or “continent” is more commonly divided into more natural geographic and cultural sub regions, including Central Asia, East Asia, North Asia, South Asia, Southeast Asia and West Asia. Although Asia is not a distinct continent geographically, there has been little unity or common history for many of the cultures and peoples of Asia. Other cultural differences throughout Asia are Asian people’s adaptations to the climate zones of Asia, subtropical or tropical. The ethnic groups have adapted to mountains, deserts, grasslands, and forests. On the coasts of Asia, the ethnic groups have adopted various methods of harvest and transport. Some groups are primarily hunter-gatherers, some practice transhumance (nomadic lifestyle), others have been agrarian/rural for millennia and others are becoming industrial/urban. Some groups/countries of Asia are completely urban (Singapore and Hong Kong). The colonization of Asia was largely ended in the twentieth century, with national drives for independence and self-determination across the continent.

Hot Air Balloons by Mark Marchant

People irst experienced lying by using a hot air balloon. The irst-ever recorded hot air balloon light was in France in the summer of 1783. Two brothers, Joseph and Etienne Montgolfer, experimented with paper models heated by hot air at their family’s paper factory. On the day of their launch, thousands of people turned out to watch the Montgolfer balloon take off. The French King Louis XVI was among the crowd. The balloon’smaiden light was a great success. Hot air ballooning became an instant national triumph for France. The French nation loved the Montgolfers, who were seen as a shining example of the country’s new age of adventure and invention.

However, the Montgolfer brothers were not on board their balloon. The passengers in the hot air balloon included a duck, a sheep and a chicken! A couple of months later, on 21 November 1783, two brave men called Marquis Francois d’Arlandes and Pilatre de Rozier entered the history books as the world’s irst people to take safely to the air.

The Montgolfer’s design of a hot air balloon is similar to the designs still in use today. Hot air balloons work on a very basic scientiic theory. Warm air rises up through cooler air. Firely or Lightning Bug Photinus pyralis

The Pyralis irely (also known as the lightning bug) is a common irely in North America. This partly nocturnal, luminescent beetle is the most common irely in the USA.

At night, the very end (the last abdominal segment) of the irely glows a bright yellow-green color. The irely can control this glowing effect. The brightness of a single irely is 1/40 of a candle. Firelies use their glow to attract other irelies. Males lash about every ive seconds; females lash about every two seconds. This irely is harvested by the biochemical industry for the organic compunds luciferin (which is the chemical the irely uses for its bioluminescence).

This lying insect is about 0.75 inch (2 cm) long. It is mostly black, with two red spots on the head cover; the wing covers and head covers are lined in yellow. Like all insects, it has a hard exoskeleton, six jointed legs, two antennae, compound eyes, and a body divided into three parts (the head, thorax, and abdomen).

Both the adults and the larvae are carnivores. They eat other insects (including other irelies), insect larvae, and snails.

Hay fever can occur all year round but it is traditionally worse in the spring months when the pollen count in the air is high. Hay fever is a common name for allergic rhinitis – meaning an allergy in the nose. The allergic reaction causes the nasal passages to become inlamed and produce more mucous. Some of the common symptoms are : sneezing; runny or stuffy nose; itchy ears ,nose and throat; red, itchy and watery eyes and sometimes headaches.

Tips to try and reduce hay fever symptoms:

1: Stay indoors where possible on windy and stormy days.

2: Smear Vaseline on the inside of your nose to help stop the air-borne pollen touching the lining of your nose.

3: Splash your eyes often with cold water as this tries to lush out any pollen.

4: Try and reduce contact with known allergens. For example –pet fur, lowers, dust etc.

As they spend more time together, they realize they have much in common. At the end, Matilda’s parents are leaving the city because of problems with the law and they let her in custody of the teacher. Matilda is very happy.

It happened one weekend while I was at the fairground. I was with my friend Sarah and we were both really excited. The lashing lights and bright colours made everything appear magical. At irst I wasn’t sure, but Sarah had been on it before. “It only takes two minutes,” she said. “Come on- it’s a really thrilling ride!” A minute later we were in the air. It was like lying! “This is a mazing!” I shouted happily to Sarah.

Then suddenly, there was a loud crash and everything stopped. I was really frightened! Sarah held my hand tightly because she was worried, too. We looked down and saw two mechanics. “Don’t worry,” they shouted. “It won’t take us long to ix it!” So we waited…and waited! At irst we were amused. Everyone was running around below us. After a while though, it became scary up there.
