ABSTRAK
Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengkaji pemanfaatan limbah padat pabrik kertas rokok, sebagai bahan kapur untuk mengatasi kemasaman tanah Ultisol serta peningkatan unsur hara akibat pemberian pupuk kandang ayam. Penelitian ini dilaksanakan pada bulan Desember 2016 sampai dengan Februari 2017, menggunakan metode penelitian Rancangan Acak Kelompok (RAK) dengan 2 faktor dimana faktor 1 (limbah padat pabrik kertas rokok) terdiri dari 4 taraf dan faktor 2 (pupuk kandang ayam) terdiri dari 3 taraf dengan 3 ulangan yang kemudian diuji dengan uji T. Analisis sampel tanah dilakukan di Laboratorium Pusat Penelitian Kelapa Sawit (PPKS) dan Laboratorium Kimia Tanah Fakultas Pertanian USU, parameter yang diamati meliputi pH tanah, Al-dd, P-tersedia, tinggi tanaman, serta berat kering tajuk dan akar.
Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa limbah padat pabrik kertas rokok mampu menurunkan pH tanah Ultisol, mempengaruhi tinggi tanaman dan berat kering tajuk, serta berpotensi dalam menurunkan Al-dd dan berpotensi memenuhi ketersediaan P dalam tanah. Pupuk kandang ayam mampu menurunkan pH tanah Ultisol dan meningkatkan kandungan P tanah Ultisol serta berpotensi dalam menurunkan Al-dd tanah.

ABSTRACT
This research aims to examine the utilization of solid waste cigarette paper factory, as a lime to overcome the acidity of Ultisol soil and nutrient increase due to chicken manure. This research was conducted in December 2016 until February 2017, using Randomized Block Design (RBD) method with 2 factors that factor 1 (solid waste of cigarette paper factory) consists of 4 levels and factor 2 (chicken manure) consist of 3 levels With 3 replications which were then tested by T test. The analysis of soil samples was conducted at the Laboratory of Oil Palm Research Center (PPKS) and Soil Chemistry Laboratory of Faculty of Agriculture, North Sumatera University, parameters observed including soil pH, Al-dd, P-available, plant height, Dry weight of crown and root.
The results showed that the solid waste of cigarette paper factories was able to decrease the pH of Ultisol soil, affect the plant height and dry weight of the crown, and also potentially in reducing Al-dd and potentially meet the P available in the soil. Chicken manure was able to decrease the soil pH of Ultisol and to increase the Ultisol P available of the soil and also potentially in reducing Al-dd soils.
