Production declined as much as 70% during 2003-2004 from 528 thousand unit (2003) to 157 thousand unit(2004). Value wise, decline was even bigger, from Rp 887million to Rp 32 million, while production in the previous years (2002-2003) rose significantly (1.41% for quantity and 1.03% for production value). Indonesia exports refrigerators to Japan, Singapore, Phillipines,Malaysia and SriLanka and imports from Thailand, Taiwan, China, Malaysia and UK. Indonesia refrigerator trade balance with Malaysia showed surplus, meaning that Indonesia exporting more refrigerator than importing it from Malaysia, this was the case during 2001-2003. While during 2004-2005 the trade balance was negative. Export quantity and value increased during 2001-2004 but declined in 2005. On the other hand, import is very fluctuative.
