SEPTO ISMELDO. Analisis Spasial Pendugaan Tingkat Bahaya Erosi di DAS

Lepan Provinsi Sumatera Utara. Dibawah bimbingan RAHMAWATY dan

ABDUL RAUF.

Penutupan lahan hutan dapat menjadi masalah jika tidak dikelola dengan

baik. Hal ini juga terindikasi dari sering terjadinya banjir dan tanah longsor di

wilayah DAS Lepan yang menandakan adanya sesuatu yang salah dalam

pengelolaan DAS Lepan.Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah memetakan tingkat

bahaya erosi di DAS Lepan secara spasial dengan menggunakan metode USLE

dan menghitung debit sedimen melayang. Metode yang digunakan adalah metode

survey . Pengambilan sampel tanah dilakukan secara acak dan dilanjutkan

perhitungan prediksi erosi tanah dengan metode Universal Soil Loss Equation

(USLE) dan pengolahan data menggunakan Sistem Informasi Geografis (SIG).

Hasil penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa tingkat bahaya erosi sangat berat

terjadi pada bagian hulu dan tengah DAS Lepan dan debit sedimen melayang

yang tinggi terjadi pada bagian hilir sebesar 1.825,286 ton/hari.

ABSTRACT

SEPTO ISMELDO. Spatial Analysis of the Erosion Hazard Level in Lepan

Watershed North Sumatera. Under academic supervision of RAHMAWATY

and ABDUL RAUF.

Forest land covering can become problems if did not manage well. It is

indicated from flood and soil erosion in Lepan Watershed that indicate something

wrong in Lepan Watershed management. This study aimed to mapping erosion in

Lepan watershed using USLE method and counting the suspended load. The

method used is a survey method. Taking the sample of soil was done randomly

and continued by calculated of soil erosion prediction with Universal Soil Loss

Equation (USLE) method and data processing used Geographic Information

System (GIS).

The research showed that the erosion hazard level heavy occured at the

upper course and medium of Lepan watershed and the highest sediment discharge

occurred at downstream watershed as big as 157,704 ton/days
