ABSTRACT
This paper is entitled The Description of Affixes Used in New Testament: Luke.The writeron this paper discusses about theaffixes. English affixes are prefixes and suffixes. The writer read all the sentences that there are 1151 sentences. On the sentences can be find 4 prefixes and 20 suffixes. The prefixes are be-, im- re-, un- and suffixes are –able, -age,-dom, –ed, -en, -er, -est, -eth, -ful, –ing, -ion, -ity, -less, -ly, -ness, -or, -ous,–s (noun plurals), -s (present), -th. The writer analyzed the data to get the dominant affix. All the data were taken from New Testament: Luke which was published by Happiness Christian Ministries for Sharing Christ’s Love. The method use in this paper was descriptive and quantitative method by using the data like numbers with percentage classification to get the dominant affix. The writer does hope that this paper can give a valuable information about affixes in English.
ABSTRAK
Kertas karya ini berjudul The Description of Affixes Used in New Testament: Luke. Penulis menganalisis tentang kata berimbuhan, suatu kata bentuk dasar bisa mendapat imbuhan baik itu di awal maupun di akhir. Bila di awal disebut awalan dan di akhir adalah akhiran. Injil Lukas terdiri dari 1151 kalimat. Terdapat 4 jenis awalan dan 20 jenis akhiran. Awalan tersebut adalah be-, im- re-, un- dan akhiran adalah –able, age, dom, –ed, en, er, est, eth, ful, –ing, ion, ity, less, ly, -ness, -or, -ous,–s (noun plurals), -s (present), -th. Penulis menganalisis data untuk menentukan imbuhan yang paling dominan. Semua data diambil dari injil Lukas di dalam perjanjian baru yang dipublikasikan oleh Departemen Kristen Kebahagiaan Sharing Crist’s Love. Metode yang digunakan adalah metode deskriptif kuantitatif yaitu menggunakan data dengan klasifikasi presentasi angka untuk mendapatkan imbuhan yang paling dominan. Penulis berharap kertas karya ini bisa bermanfaat dan memberikan informasi yang berguna mengenai imbuhan dan jenis-jenis imbuhan dalam bahasa Inggris.
