The papers in the 19th WCSS Proceedings have been peer reviewed and edited prior to publication. They constitute brief (maximum 4 pages) descriptions of research work or are reviews of soil science topics. These papers should not be submitted for publication elsewhere in their present form. It is anticipated that some authors will develop and modify the content of their papers for publication as full-length papers in journals.

Opinions, statements and information within papers belong to the authors and not to IUSS or the organisers of the 19th WCSS. The 19th WCSS Proceedings are available on a DVD (ISBN 978-0-646-53783-2) and also from the website

Some papers presented at the Congress are not included in the Proceedings because inter alia they were incorrectly formatted, authors did not provide a corrected version, speakers enrolled for the Congress after the Proceedings were compiled or due to data base deficiencies.

In the Proceedings papers are located in Symposia current on 21 June 2010; a few papers have been moved to other Symposia subsequent to this date. They can be located by searching for title or first author.

Author of papers inadvertently omitted from this DVD can apply to the editor ([email protected] and [email protected]) before 1 October 2010 for the paper to be included in the online Proceedings (http://www.iuss.org).
