ABSTRAK
Latar Belakang----Virus Zika merupakan virus yang berasal dari golongan flaviviridae yang dapat disebarkan oleh nyamuk A. Aegypti. Selain itu, menurut penelitian terakhir virus ini dapat juga ditularkan lewat sperma dan dapat juga ditularkan secara vertikal ke fetus atau janin. Walaupun, gejala klinis yang muncul tidak berbahaya pada manusia tapi, virus ini dapat menyerang fetus yang masih dalam tahap perkembangan sehingga menyebabkan mikrosefalus.
Tujuan Penelitian----Penelitian ini dirancang untuk mengetahui tingkat pengetahuan mashasiswi prodi D-3 Kebidanan di STIKes (Sekolah Tinggi Ilmu Kesehatan) Senior, Medan tentang Virus Zika tahun 2016 berdasarkan karakteristik yaitu umur, angkatan, dan suku.
Metode----Jenis penelitian ini bersifat deskriptif, dengan rancangan cross sectional yang menggunakan data primer dengan teknik sampling kuota kepada 75 responden yang mengisi kuesioner.
Hasil----Hasil penelitian menunjukan bahwa pengetahuan responden tentang Virus Zika di STIKes Senior pada Prodi D-3 Kebidanan berada pada kategori sedang dengan persentase 56%. Distribusi frekuensi berdasarkan umur mayoritas berusia 20 tahun sebanyak 29 responden (38,7%), berdasarkan angkatan semuanya seimbang dengan angkatan 2015 yang menunjukan tingkat pengetahuan yang baik, berdasarkan suku mayoritas bersuku batak sebanyak 51 responden (68%).
Kesimpulan----Dari hasil penelitian diatas, peneliti menyimpulkan bahwa mahasiswi prodi D-3 Kebidanan STIKes Senior, Medan pada tahun 2016 memiliki tingkat pengetahuan yang sedang tentang Virus Zika.

ABSTRACT
Background----Zika Virus is a virus that comes from flaviviridae virus which can be transmitted through A. Aegypti mosquito. Meanwhile, from the last research found that this virus can transmitted through sperm and it can infected the fetus in pregnancy. Even though the symptom that can be found do not harm to human but, the virus can attack the fetus which still in developing cycle and cause microcephalus.
The Purpose----This research is designed with the aim to determine the level of
knowledge STIKes’s (Sekolah Tinggi Ilmu Kesehatan) students about Zika Virus in
2016 that is based on the characteristics of age, batch, and, ethnic.
The Methods----The type of this research is descriptive; with cross sectional studies which use primary data with quota sampling towards 75 subjects whose fill the questioners.
Results----The result of this studies shows that the level of knowledge STIKes’s scholar about Zika Virus is in moderate category with percentage of 56%. The frequency distribution based on age, based on batch all in balance amount of subject which is 25 subject each batch with batch of 2015 with the good k nowledge, based on ethnic majority is batak ethnic with 51 subject (68%).
Conclusion----From that result, the author concluded that the level of knowledge
STIKes’s scholar about Zika Virus is moderate.
