Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah (1) untuk mengetahui perbedaan hasil belajar siswa yang diajar melalui model kooperatif tipe TGT dengan NHT dalam pembelajaran matematika pada Kelas VIII SMPS DDI Mattoanging. (2) untuk mengetahui perbedaan aktivitas siswa melalui model kooperatif tipe TGT dengan NHT dalam pembelajaran matematika pada Kelas VIII SMPS DDI Mattoanging.
Populasi dalam penelitian ini adalah seluruh siswa kelas VIII SMPS DDI Mattoanging yang terdiri dari 4 kelas dan berjumlah 98 siswa. Teknik pengambilan sampel dengan cara simple random sampling dan yang terpilih menjadi sampel penelitian adalah kelas VIII C sebagai kelas eksperimen I yang menggunakan pembelajaran kooperatif tipe TGT dan VIII D sebagai kelas eksperimen II yang menggunakan pembelajaran kooperatif tipe NHT. Desain penelitian yang digunakan adalah Pretest-Posttest Control Group Design.
Instrumen penelitian yang digunakan adalah pretest dan posttest, lembar kegiatan siswa (LKS), dan aktivitas siswa. Teknik pengumpulan data dalam penelitian ini adalah (1) data aktivitas siswa pada saat diterapkan model pembelajaran kooperatif tipe TGT dan NHT. (2) data mengenai hasil belajar melalui pretest dan posttest. Sedangkan teknik analisis data yang digunakan adalah statistik deskriptif dan statistik inferensial.
Dari Hasil analisis statistik deskriptif diperoleh rata-rata persentase aktivitas siswa pada kelas eksperimen I adalah pertemuan ke-II 87%, pertemuan ke-III 92%, dan pertemuan ke-IV 94%. Sedangkan rata-rata persentase aktivitas siswa pada kelas eksperimen II adalah pertemuan ke-II 82%, pertemuan ke-III 88%, dan pertemuan ke-IV 91%. Pengolahan statistik deskriptif juga memperoleh nilai rata-rata pretest dan posttest pada kelas eksperimen I sebesar 39 dan 82, sedangkan rata-rata pretest dan posttest pada kelas eksperimen II adalah 44 dan 72. Dengan demikian rata-rata persentase aktivitas siswa pada kelas eksperimen I dan kelas eksperimen II terjadi perbedaan, sesuai dengan kemampuan hasil belajar siswa, yakni hasil belajar matematika pada kelas eksperimen I lebih tinggi dari pada kelas eksperimen II.
Dari hasil di atas, dapat kita simpulkan bahwa terdapat perbedaan hasil belajar dan aktivitas siswa yang diajar melalui model kooperatif tipe TGT dengan NHT dalam pembelajaran matematika pada kelas VIII SMPS DDI Mattoanging.
Dalam hal ini, hasil belajar dan aktivitas siswa yang diajar melalui model kooperatif tipe TGT lebih tinggi dari pada siswa yang diajar melalui model kooperatif tipe NHT.

Comparison between Student Learning Outcomes and Activities in Mathematics Learning Through the Cooperative Model Type Teams Games Tournament (TGT) and Numbered Heads Together (NHT) in the VIII grade students of SMPS DDI Mattoanging. The purpose of this study was (1) found out the differences between student learning outcomes through the cooperative model of the TGT type and NHT in mathematics learning in the VIII grade students of DDI Mattoanging SMPS. (2) Found out the differences of student activities through the TGT and NHT cooperative models in mathematics learning in the VIII grade students of SMPS DDI Mattoanging. The population of this study were all of the eighth grade students of SMPS DDI Mattoanging which consisted of 4 classes with 98 students. The sampling technique was chosen by simple random sampling and the selected sample of the study was class VIII C as the experimental class I using TGT type cooperative learning and VIII D as the experimental class II using NHT type cooperative learning. The research design used was Pretest-Posttest Control Group Design. The research instruments used were pretest and posttest, student activity sheets (LKS), and student activities. Technique of data collection in this study were (1) data from the student activity when applied the TGT and NHT cooperative learning models. (2) data from regarding learning outcomes through pretest and posttest. While the technique of data analysis used are descriptive statistics and inferential statistics.
From the results of descriptive statistical analysis obtained an average percentage of student activity in experimental class I was the 87% in the second meeting, the third meeting was 92%, and the fourth meeting was 94%. While the average percentage of student activity in the experimental class II was the 82% in the second meeting, the third meeting was 88%, and the fourth meeting was 91%.
Descriptive statistical processing also obtained the mean score of pretest and posttest in experimental class I of 39 and 82, while the mean score of pretest and posttest in experimental class II was 44 and 72. Thus the average percentage of student activity in experimental class I and experimental class II there is a difference, according to the ability of student learning outcomes, namely mathematics learning outcomes in experimental class I is higher than experimental class II.
From the results above, we can conclude that there are differences between students learning outcomes and student activities through the TGT type cooperative model and NHT in mathematics learning in the VIII grade students of SMPS DDI Mattoanging. In this case, learning outcomes and student activities taught through the TGT type cooperative model are higher than students taught through the NHT type cooperative model.
