ABSTRAK
Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui hubungan antara self esteem dengan body dissatisfaction pada remaja perempuan. Hipotesis yang diajukan dalam penelitian ini adalah adanya hubungan yang negatif antara self esteem dengan body dissatisfaction pada remaja perempuan. Subjek dalam penelitian ini adalah 157 remaja perempuan yang berusia 12 sampai 21 tahun. Pengambilan data dalam penelitian ini menggunakan skala self esteem dan skala body dissatisfaction. Teknik analisis data yang digunakan adalah korelasi product moment. Berdasarkan hasil analisis data diperoleh koefisien korelasi sebesar (𝑟𝑥𝑦)= -0,497 dan (p < 0,050).
Hasil tersebut menunjukkan bahwa terdapat hubungan yang negatif antara antara self esteem dengan body dissatisfaction, sehingga hipotesis diterima. Koefisien determinasi (𝑅2) sebesar 0,247 sehingga dapat diartikan bahwa variabel self esteem menunjukkan kontribusi sebesar 24,7% terhadap variabel body dissatisfaction, dan sisanya 75,3% dipengaruhi oleh faktor lain.

ABSTRACT
This study aims to determine the relationship between self-esteem and body dissatisfaction in adolescent girls. The hypothesis proposed in this study is that there is a negative relationship between self-esteem and body dissatisfaction in adolescent girls. The subjects in this study were 157 adolescent girls aged 12 to 21 years. Data collection in this study used a self-esteem scale and a body dissatisfaction scale. The data analysis technique used is product moment correlation. Based on the results of data analysis obtained a correlation coefficient of (𝑟𝑥𝑦) = -0.497 and (p < 0.050). These results indicate that there is a negative relationship between self-esteem and body dissatisfaction, so the hypothesis is accepted. The coefficient of determination (𝑅2) is 0.247 so it can be interpreted that the self-esteem variable shows a contribution of 24.7% to the body dissatisfaction variable, and the remaining 75.3% is influenced by other factors.
