  • Definition of Morphology
  • Types of Morphological Operation
  • Morpheme
  • Affixes

Most derivational prefixes do not change the part of speech of the root, but form a new meaning. A prefix is a type of affix that can be placed at the beginning of a word. Plag says that the creation of a new meaning may or may not be accompanied by a change in the part of speech.

The prefix re- is the derivational morpheme attached to verbs to form new verbs. The Concept of Novel

  • Definition of Novel
  • Elements of Novel

Luken says that theme is the idea that holds the story together, such as a commentary on society, human nature, or the human condition. It is the main idea or central meaning of the writing.26 Most stories have a theme, sometimes we can understand it as the message or moral value of the story. A main character is an important figure at the center of the story's action or theme.

The main character is sometimes called the protagonist, whose conflict with the antagonist can trigger the conflict in the story. Hudson defines the setting as the entire environment of the story, including the customs and traditions, habits and way of life of the characters.28 The setting plays an important role in the story as the background of the story. Setting gives the reader information about where the story takes place and explains the time of the story.

A forward plot is a plot in which incidents are arranged in sequence and the story goes from time to time, past to present.

CONCLUSION AND SUGGESTION

Conclusion

The Number Of Derivational Affixes

The Number Of The Function Of Derivational Affixes

Based on the analysis in Table 2, the researcher found the functions of derivative affixes shown in Table 2. The derivative affixes can be called an adjective maker when the part of speech of the word is changed to an adjective. Finally, the theory of derivative suffixes should be taught with the simple examples through simple sentences until they can build better sentences.

An adverbial modifier means suffixes that change a root into an adverb, a noun modifier means suffixes that change a root into a noun, an adjective modifier means suffixes that change a root into an adjective, and a verb modifier means suffixes that change a root into a verb.
