Gymnastic Faculty Seminar

On Friday and Saturday, November 26 and 27, the Gymnastic Faculty Seminar was visited by the out of town members of the Board of Trustees. Under Theo. Stempfel’s leadership, several meetings of the Seminar committee took place. Turner Rob. Nix presented a comprehensive report about the work of the Board of Trustees and the department and its faculty members since the seminar was relocated from Milwaukee to Indianapolis. Important business matters came up for discussion and plans how to increase the seminar’s impact were elaborated.

The guests showed special interest in the lessons on the sports field and in the classrooms. The 24 students in both classes (college and elementary levels) impressed the observers.

The way the organized, free and equipment exercises were conducted under the leadership of the current instructor Emil Rath and individual members of the college level class demonstrated the fresh and happy spirit which animates the students. They followed the faculty lectures in the classrooms attentively and their responses showed understanding and intelligence.

Instructors and students work together in harmony. A fresh wind moves through the seminar and gives grounds for great hope.
