PREFACE

First of all, I’d like to thank God for these precious opportunities and also to the family, lecturers, International Career Center (ICC), internship mentor, Mr. Bustanul Arifin for the supervise and suggestions during my internship period.

Internship for me is the highest level that every students in President University have to do in the last semester before doing the thesis. It is a big opportunity for the students to have a brighter future because we are obligated to experience the working world before we are graduated and have to face the real world. In order to accomplished my 4 months internship period, PT. Dirgantara Yudha Artha has became the company that attract me as my destination.

During my Internship Period I had a chance to do my internship in the Human Resources Department at PT. DirgantaraYudhaArtha. I accomplished my internship in this company for 4 months, since 7th August – 22nd December 2017. Gratitude to my supervisor at Human Resources and Construction Department, Mr. Hudik Pramono.

Thank you for the great experiences and lessons. Hopefully it could be a good compliment for me as the student which was doing the in both institute.

CHAPTER I INTRODUCTION

1. Introduction

In President University, Internship is a compulsory and counted as credits that need to be taken in order to take further steps on our studies. All of the students of President University are obligated to have four until eight months of internship period. At the end of internship period, students from President University have to present to their internship mentor regarding things they have earned and learned as an intern.

For the International Relations students in President University, internship is a compulsory and the period are about 4 – 8 months. The students need to take internship and report it to the ICC. This internship can be finished in the ministerial or MNC or Non-governmental organization that reliable with their focus of study.

This internship is really a good step for the students to enlarge their skill and to develop their capability which hopefully support their future career.

I.1. Objectives of the Internship

There are several benefits by accomplishing internship program which are as follow:

1. Experiencing an opportunity to work in a career related or professional environment

2. To increase knowledge, and interpersonal skills of students which eventually increase their quality

3. Developing self-confidence and evaluation for the student and supporting the student to prepare themselves in job market

4. Learn about responsibility on duties, the intern will be given some important tasks that they have to handle

5. Strengthening soft skills of the student in order to enlarge professional relations 6. Providing valuable experience to prepare for future employment

7. Applying skills and knowledge from class into professional environment 8. Enlarging relations between university with the company or institution

9. Providing managerial skills of the student in order to manage time and social life outside class in university

I.2. Benefits of the Internship

During the total of four months internship program at PT DirgantaraYudhaArtha, the author gains some benefits as following:

1. The internship period gives the author understanding regarding the duty of this directorate.

2. The internship period gives the author in depth understanding of Human Resources role in a company.

3. The internship gives the author a lot of new skills and personal development that beneficial for the author as the workers.

II.1 Company History

II.1.1 PT. Dirgantara Yudha Artha History

1990: PT. Dirgantara Yudha Artha was established on June 6, 1990.

2003: PT. Dirgantara Yudha Artha expanded its business unit into the field of health equipment procurement in the form of Autodisable Syringe and Safety Box. To support the business unit was established PT. Oneject Indonesia engaged in the fabrication of Autodisable Syringe products

2006: PT. Dirgantara Yudha Artha established Asphalt Mixing Plant in Batujajar, Kab.

West Bdg operated by PT. Dirgantara Aspalindo which focuses on the production of hotmix asphalt processing

2013: PT. Dirgantara Yudha Artha expanded its business unit into coal mining and became the majority shareholder in PT. Amanah Batu Alam Persada which is engaged in coal mining

2014:

 PT. Dirgantara Yudha Artha build Asphalt Mixing Plant in Indramayu with capacity reach 3000 tons/day.

 PT. Dirgantara Yudha Artha is appointed and trusted to carry out the construction of Cikopo - Palimanan Toll Road.

 PT. DirgantaraYudhaArtha bought most of the shares of PT. Selo Bumi Quarry is engaged in the stone quarries operating in Kab.Sumedang

2017: PT. Dirgantara Yudha Artha moved the medical equipment and distribution business to PT Itama Ranoraya website

IV.1.2 Quality Policy

QUALITY POLICY (ISO 9001:2008)

Leadership and all levels of management of PT. Dirgantara Yudha Artha agreed to complete the work in accordance with the specifications set by customers and laws/regulations with consistent product quality and competitive prices, and timely in completing the work. To realize the quality policy, PT. Dirgantara Yudha Artha implements the Quality Management System of ISO 9001 : 2008 and increases the existing resources continuously.

OCCUPATIONAL HEALTH AND SAFETY AND ENVIRONMENTAL (HSE) MANAGEMENT SYSTEM - ISO 14001:2004 & OHSAS 18001:2007

In addition to the quality management system, PT. Dirgantara Yudha Artha also implements a management system of occupational health and environment management by referring to the standards of ISO 14001:2004 and OHSAS 18001:2007 consistently in every line of the company, and always try to improve the resource on an ongoing basis, to the administration, especially those directly related to the project work in the field.

To satisfy customers with high quality products, PT.

Dirgantara Yudha Artha seeks to increase the company's resources on an ongoing basis in line with technological developments. We are also always ready to invest to support the projects we work on.

The business scope of PT Dirgantara Yudha Artha is a provider of highway construction, runway, building / property, property and medical equipment.

II.5 Products and Services

Construction

Established in 1990, the company started its business in the field of regional infrastructure, and has participated in national projects.It’s a pride for us that the projects we have performed have more value and provided benefits to the Government and the community in general, among others some public facility infrastructure such as the Extension of Runway in Pontianak, Extension of Runway in Pekanbaru, Construction of Runway in Morotai, Overlay Runway in Halim Perdanakusuma airport, Overlay Runway of Sultan Thaha Jambi Airport, etc. and the construction and improvement of roads in West Java, the construction of CIPALI toll road, the maintenance and improvement of Padaleunyi toll road, as well as the construction of buildings.

Concrete Readymix Plant

Our Batching Plant with a capacity of 60 m³/hour has produced ready mix with a variety of quality. In addition to meeting our needs in the construction of road infrastructure and building projects we perform, we also supply the public needs.

Asphalt Mixing Plant

As the supporter of current road and runway projects, we have operated 4 (four) units of AMP, 2 (two) of them are located in Indramayu with a daily production capacity reaching

CHAPTER III

INTERNSHIP ACTIVITIES III. Internship Activity

In this chapter the author would like to mention all of the main responsibilities and activities for the past 4 months of internship on Human Resources Department at PT.

Dirgantara Yudha Artha from August 7th – December 22nd, 2017. Its contain 20 weeks of internship and 9 hours/day start from 8 AM as an Human Resources internee.

The author has some kind ofimportant responsibilities to filtering a lot of CVs from the job applicants. Not only that, called thejob applicant to the interview session also being the author responsibility. Help supervisor about sort of things in the interviewsession and to analysis which are the questions that will be asked to the applicants.

PERSONAL RESULTS/POINTS LEARNED

IV. Personal Results / Points Learned

IV.1 Internship General Evaluation

During the internship period, there were many things learned and gave many positive effect to the author. To explain this chapter, the author will divide it into some points based on the questions from the internship report guideline for both institutes.

1. The internship in the Human Resource Department provides many advantages for me as the student of International relations.

As the student of International relations, this internship is giving an advantage for me.

Through this internship, I can understand the implementation of the theory that I learned in the university. I have the chance to learn how to analize data and also how to speaking fluently to people such as the job applicants.

2. The process of the company recruitment.

During my internship at Human Resources Department in PT. Dirgantara Yudha Artha, a lot of new things learnt. Although most of the times always to try filled my free times, but company recruitment process is one of important thing to learnt and get involved. Its beneficial for me regarding my future career.

CHAPTER V

RECOMMENDATION

V. Recommendation

V.1 Recommendation for Students

- The student should have known first their interest in working before they apply to a company that they want and also explore more about the job desk that the students will face in their company.

V.2 Recommendation for Human Resources Department of PT. Dirgantara Yudha Artha

- For the department, it is good opportunity and experience. But a lot of free time as the internee get, the supervisor should give another task that can involve the internee often.

V.3 Recommendation for President University

- For the university, it would be good if the University through the ICC can share more links and facilitate the students in looking for the internship. Because it would be easier for the students if the ICC also recommends and facilitate the internship opportunities to the students. In the long period, if the students can have the internship in the good company or ministry, it would give a good impact for the university.
