This brief statement is the official view of the scriptures of the HBC by virtue of its placement in the accepted doctrinal statement of the church. The HBC demonstrated a low working view of the Bible, one that believed God's Word to be non-essential to daily life.

Grudem gives the authority of Scripture and its sufficiency lengthy treatments that indicate their vital role in the life of the Christian. This should have resulted in more faith in God's Word or a less functionally flawed view of the Bible. Examples of the glorification of God's Word as the primary means of sanctification can be seen in the Gospels of the NT.

In the Psalm of the OT, the psalmist claims that God's Word has unique properties that make it sufficient and authoritative to sanctify his people (Ps 19:7-11). This guiding aspect of the Word of God is why Allen refers to Scripture as "God's guidebook."101 And. The Word's sufficiency and authority is also confirmed in the reference of the confessionals to the Bible verses on which they are based.

Reformation used official affirmations of the primacy of God's Word to help grow and maintain trust in it. A growing confidence in the Bible's sufficiency and authority in a church, such as HBC, is a desired result of the prescribed faithful modeling of great confidence in God's Word. Increase confidence rooted in knowledge of the Bible's sufficiency and authority in adults who attend HBC.

Implementation Phase

Assess the current state of confidence in the sufficiency and authority of the Bible among adults attending HBC. Develop an eight-session multi-formatted course curriculum that will equip the adults attending HBC to build greater confidence rooted in biblical knowledge. The second session (Matthew 4:4) focused on the fact that Jesus Christ models triumphant over temptation by knowing, believing, trusting and obeying the Scriptures.

I created the next three sessions from March 1 to April 11 and gave them the theme of some of the testimonies of two Psalmists about the authority and sufficiency of Scripture. The third and fourth sessions were clearly rooted in Psalm 19:7-11 and borrowed largely from material in the second Bible passage discussed in chapter 2. The third session focused on the idea that Scripture is supernatural, desirable, authoritative, and sufficient. revealed will of God.

The fifth session was rooted in the psalm and was primarily drawn from the material on the third scripture covered in chapter 2. The session was based on the historical testimonies contained in the material of the second part of chapter 3 of this project and was primarily drawn from it. copying in a lesson friendly format. One session is based on 2 Timothy 3:15-17 and was drawn mainly from the material on the fourth Bible passage covered in chapter 2.

These constraints were constant and included specific state restrictions, the inability of the HBC to repeatedly sterilize multiple areas (including restrooms, classrooms, and everything in between), and the general comfort of the perceived level of safety and thus the willingness of potential participants to participate. When I changed the format of classroom instruction to sermons, I no longer had a multi-format curriculum. Nevertheless, I tried to make the best of a difficult situation, even though the loss of multiformatting negated efforts to alleviate the inherent limitations caused by the different learning styles of the participants.3.

Half of the rubrics gave comments of various kinds and quality in the designated places on the marked rubrics. I considered the second objective to be met when a minimum of ninety percent of the evaluation criteria met or exceeded the adequate level on all applicable rubrics. Overall, 97.9 percent of the curriculum evaluation criteria were rated by the panel as "adequate" or "exemplary." The sixth sermon got 93.7 per cent.

Implementation Phase

With their permission, the eight-part curriculum, a curriculum overview, and the previously approved rubric were emailed to each of them. Within two weeks of emailing the curriculum, I received all completed sections in the mail. I then printed copies of the approved BCS and stapled a blank piece of paper to the back of each survey.

I have also included a piece of paper with a large number of one or two printed on the front to help easily distinguish between pre-course and post-course surveys. At that time, the BCS and ink pens were made available to those in attendance and the agreement to participate was read aloud to the congregation. The need to participate in all sessions and the option to use the online option, if necessary, was explained and anonymity was seriously promised.

This same process was repeated on August 30 and the first completed pre-course surveys were returned anonymously and placed in a designated area in the back of the church. On September 6, I offered the last opportunity to participate in the ministry project by instructing attendees as described above. Each participant filled out their BCS before the worship service began and placed it in the designated spot where I later collected them as described above.

The results of the pre-course BCS were entered into a pre-formatted Excel spreadsheet using participant-selected personal identification number (PIN) for later comparison with the post-course survey results. I then returned to the task a day later with refreshed eyes and checked my data entries a fourth time. For most responses, "strongly agree" was the most desired and was given the numerical value of 6.

For items and 17, “strongly disagree” was the most desired response, and the assigned numerical value was reversed from the other responses accordingly. The total number of pre-course surveys collected was twenty-five, a number that exceeded thirty-three percent of thirty-two. Therefore, this objective was considered met for the BCS, provided that the clear pre-course survey data were needed for comparison with the post-course survey data to be collected for the third objective.

Implementation Phase

This week's messages were part of a theme centered on the testimony of the Psalmists about the sufficiency and authority of. On the Sunday of the third week of accomplishing my third goal, I preached from the psalm to twenty-eight adult audience on Sunday morning. The scriptural call to worship and the Bible reading of the service were Proverbs 1:1-7 and 2 Peter 1:16-21, respectively.

The scriptural call to worship and the Bible reading portions of the service were John 20:24-31 and Philippians 1:1-6. This part of the third objective was met as a dependent samples t-test showed a positive, statistically significant difference in pre- and post-course BCS scores: t p < 0.0001. The positive statistically significant difference speaks for increased trust rooted in knowledge of the Bible's sufficiency and authority among the participants.

The interviews made it possible to identify and better understand the factors that led to the changes reflected in the results of the post-course survey. The conclusion of the project provided a successful assessment of the adult audience's current level of confidence in the sufficiency and authority of the Bible. The completion of the project also brought greater confidence, rooted in a knowledge of the sufficiency and authority of the Bible.

The third goal was to increase confidence based on the knowledge of the sufficiency and authority of the Bible in adults attending HBC. The first stage of the third goal was achieved when I preached to the adult participants at HBC about the curriculum of the second goal's increase course. Adult HBC attendees benefited from quantitative and qualitative increases in self-evaluation regarding their ongoing use of the Bible.

Would Do Differently

Indeed, there is an endless need in this life to grow in our confidence in the authority and sufficiency of God's word. I need to make how to read the Bible effectively a point of explicit teaching in the best attended congregations at HBC. Out of the mental energies spent on executing this ministry project, I have gained new insight into how to facilitate the desired stay in the Word at HBC.

When faced with a conflict between friends, I look to the Bible to resolve the conflict. I also keep it in a much more convenient place.” (P5) “The most significant part of this was repeated exposure to the Word of God. And reading my Bible at a slower speed means it takes me longer to read certain verses for the day.” (P5) “The experience was very affirming for my faith.
