From table 4.3, the researcher concludes that the students included in the first level (excellent) were 2 students. FINDINGS AND DISCUSSION

Findings

In the findings of the research, the researcher analyzed the ability of the students in writing a descriptive text and the difficulties in writing a descriptive text. To calculate the scoring of students' written results, the researcher used Brown and Bailey's analytical scoring. 3 students were included in the fourth level, and 0 students were included in the last level.

The researcher notes that the proportion of students belonging to the highest level (excellent) was 9.09%, for students belonging to the good level, 36.36%, for students belonging to the sufficient level, 40.90%, for students belonging to the fair level, it was 13.63%. In this survey, students are classified as struggling if they are at a good or poor level. There are 16 students who have problems with vocabulary and 18 students who have problems with mechanics.

It happens because they didn't know how to use punctuation; capitalist and they make a big problem with the spelling.

Discussion

To specify the student problem that the students made in writing descriptive text, the problems are classified into five aspects of writing, namely organization, development, grammar, mechanics and vocabulary. All paragraphs above show that the students struggle to distinguish between identification and description in writing correct sentences. From the sentences above, the students did not understand the use of help in their sentences.

From the sentences above, the students have failed to use appropriate pronouns in their sentences. Students use incorrect pronouns and students have failed to use appropriate nouns in their sentences. On the basis of the above paragraph, the students wrote their writing too wordy and not concise, because many repetition words were used.

So, it can be concluded that the students were at a fair level and had problematic vocabulary. The result showed that students still have many mistakes in their writing. In addition, most students find it difficult to form sentences and write correct spelling words.

According to the result of the study, the researcher recommends some suggestions to improve students' ability and subtract students' problems in writing descriptive text. The researcher noted that the strategy and material in learning descriptive text is good enough. Mengamati siswa mengerjakan teks yang telah dibagikan sambil mengulangi hal-hal penting yang perlu dilakukan. Mintalah siswa untuk mempelajari semua hal penting yang terlibat dalam menulis teks deskriptif. Seperti pada contoh yang telah dijelaskan, langkah-langkah pembelajaran pun dijelaskan.
