June 32 Liu, "Effects of Comic Strips on L2 Learners' Reading Comprehension", , (United Statet:Tesol Quarterly), Vol. To compensate for these weaknesses, the researcher should find a way to correct these weaknesses by drawing cartoons in reading comprehension materials. In order to achieve systematic and targeted teaching using cartoon material, the teacher must plan their procedures for using cartoons in the teaching of reading comprehension.

The teacher should be careful about the content of the material and should choose the best comic material that suits the student. A teacher must be selective about the language of comic book material he uses for teaching. Comics can engage students in learning and teach them to translate a story into a picture, even if they were faced with a real context.

Otherwise, if cartoons cannot be used correctly in the teaching of reading comprehension, the students' reading comprehension will get a bad low result.

CONCLUSION AND SUGGESTIONS

CONCLUSION

Before the post-test, the researcher gives a treatment to the students in the experimental class and for the control class the researcher does not give a treatment. In the pre-test; the experimental class mean score is 51.53 and the post-test mean score is 79.23. In the pre-test; the mean score of the control class is 61.15 and the mean post-test score is 70.38.

The fact shows that there are changes in the number of students who get the low category and the high category. By using this medium, the teaching and learning process becomes more interesting, pleasant and relaxed, and all the students will participate actively in the teaching and learning process.

The principal should support the English learning process by preparing some facilities for teaching and learning. The teacher can choose cartoons as an alternative medium in the teaching of English, especially in reading comprehension, so that the student can understand the material that the teacher provides, because by an interesting medium in the teaching of learning, it can automatically improve the students' motivation in the learning process, and it can make them do their best to accept the material the teacher is teaching.
