The objectives of the study were to find out (1) the improvement of the students‟
speaking accuracy in term of vocabulary at the Second Grade Students of SMP Muhammadiyah Limbung, Gowa, and (2) The improvement of the students‟
speaking accuracy in term of pronunciation at the Second Grade Students of SMP Muhammadiyah Limbung, Gowa.
The research method was pre-experimental. Sample was chosen through cluster sampling technique. The total number of sample was 45 students. The instrument was speaking test.
Based on the finding, it was found that the students‟ mean score of vocabulary in pretest, which was 3.76, improved to 4.73 in posttest, while the percentage of improvement is 20.66%. Considering the result of t-test, it was found that ttest >
ttable (6.969>3.526), which means the students‟ vocabulary significantly improved.
The students‟ mean score of pronunciation in posttest, which was 3.18, improved to 4.04 in posttest, while the percentage of improvement was 21.43%.
Considering the result of t-test, it was found that ttest > ttable (6.969>3.526), which means the students‟ pronunciation significantly improved.
