I am a member of the PeckChapter of the FFA and I have been taking agriculture for two years now. I like the article about the National Convention in the February-March issue because it shows our boys who can't get down there what's going on.

Poor soil that is well cultivated can often yield a farmer more profit than good soil that is poorly cultivated. Its Cat toolbar and bulldozer greatly increase the variety of jobs the D2 efficiently completes. He says: “The D2 has proven to be the most efficient way to farm. We are achieving significant fuel savings as well as greater efficiency.” Clear the clumps of trees shading your farmland: swing the Cat "Swing-Around" toolbar drawbars forward and attach the dozer. High places where water drains, low places where water stands: bring them to the right height. Build ponds for irrigation, livestock, fun. Beautify your farm.

Only with accurate records can we be sure that Moorman's Mintrates will do the best possible job for feeders — helping their animals and poultry convert home grown grain from August to September 1956. Because only accurate feed cost records can show you which products are making money. and which ones are not.

These boys are not slaves to the farm, but they, and the rest of the family, work for each other so that everyone can participate in activities of his or her choice.” Lynn has been away from home much of this year fulfilling his duties as regional vice president. of the FFA, a job that requires a lot of time and travel. Lynn became a charter member of the North Fremont FFA Chapter in 1950 when the school first established a vocational agriculture department, with Seth Forsgren as instructor.

Our guess is that when he gets out of farm school, he'll head straight to that farm in the shadow of the Rockies and use his agricultural knowledge on his. A few months ago, another section collapsed behind Masayuki's house, removing part of the driveway leading to the garage. Nii had started farming in the area in 1939 and acquired 70 acres of virgin forest land with the assistance of.

The State Farmer Degree was awarded to Masayuki in 1935 and he was elected territorial president of the Hawaiian FFA Association. With the formation of the Hawaii Young Farmers Association, this group helped found the Puna Chapter in 1953. In February this year, Masayuki decided to return to his farm despite threats from Pele, the Hawaiian volcano goddess who had destroyed his crops.

With talk of the territory acquiring his property for a volcano park, Masayuki still has trouble moving.

NATIONAL STEEL UUCORPORATION

Future Farmers jump into their cars, school buses or whatever means of transportation is available and hit the roads. In fact, these meetings are another step toward state and national honors for many future farmers whose work. More than 1,700 FFA members, advisors and friends from 68 counties and 170 high schools across the state attend the event.

Future farmers who participated, there were 178 teams in the livestock judging competition, 176 dairy cattle judging, 120 in poultry and 25 teams in dairy products. Then each member's bedroll and cot are neatly stacked under the clothes rack, while boxes of canned goods and other groceries are packed into the remaining space. Photographs were taken by a local press photographer and an on-the-spot broadcast by telephone described the departure to the radio audience.

Every evening a night letter is sent to the radio station at home, describing the events of the day. Members may go to the cinema or to the local drugstore in the evening, but they must have permission from the advisor and should never go anywhere with more than two people. At six in the morning the chef provides breakfast: a hearty breakfast with ham, eggs, toast and coffee, or hot rolls and bacon.

Besides the pleasure of the tours, they have been satisfactory to the Chapter for our officers to receive complimentary letters from.

REPORT TO AGRICULTURAL LEADERS

Each of us is expected to be a self-appointed ambassador for our town, high school, and FFA chapter. First, the cooking equipment is unloaded .. and the chef near the gym prepares the big meal of the day. Everything must be packed. in an orderly manner due to limited space.. a third of the crew who . rotates, "police" the gymnasium and courtyards to ensure they remain clean, . . . sometimes much better than found!.

Besides the enjoyment of the trips, they have been gratifying to the chapter for our official to get free letters from . officials who have been our hosts. In fact, it is one of the most important steps any breeder takes in the development of his beef herd. In doing this it may not be possible to correct all faults at once but decide which points you need to improve the most such as type, thickness, bone or heads and then find the bull.. size bull is usually preferable to an unusually large or undersized.

It is not possible to have cows so excellent that every good bull will have a good calf, so the bull must be considerably above the average of your cows if any real improvement is to be made in cattle breeding. The sire that has been purchased to produce modern cattle should not only look August-September, 1956. the maturing part, but it should be good. Knowing that in an older class at a major show is not enough; also learn where the calf is placed.

SUPERIOR BULLS SPEED IMPROVEMENT

If you are raising better than average cattle, you can consider line breeding, but it is better to crossbreed until there is no doubt that your herd is good enough.

2 games for Hartford in the Eastern Baseball League, not knowing it would hurt his amateur status. In 1923 he was spotted by Paul Krichell of the New York Yankees, who had written his name on a contract before anyone else had the chance. During Lou's first stretch in the batting cage, he was so nervous he couldn't take the bat off his shoulder, but that didn't last long.

That patience and practice made Gehrig one of the best first basemen the game has ever known. In 1932, during a game with the rugged Philadelphia Athletics, he accomplished one of baseball's greatest feats by hitting four home runs in one game. It seemed that every time he did something extraordinary, something else would be in the news.

Gehrig was always a quiet, shy person, even though he was a star in his own right. Also in 1934, Gehrig experienced the pain of an illness that cut short his career and his life, just as he was reaching the peak of his career. Lou stayed with the team until the end of the season as captain and could be found in the dugout during every game.

34;And," continued Alice Dozier, "your father has called a family council tonight to discuss that and your career at the university."

The committee itself is composed of three members of the FFA, one each from the sophomore, junior and senior classes, along with the FFA advisor. The application form is returned to the loan committee, and the applicant then sits with the committee, such as.

Based on their experience, the Cumberland Valley Branch believes this is a very beneficial activity to help students become established in farming. The reasons behind the creation of the loan committee are that, in addition to helping future farmers, they teach first-hand how to use a loan and deal with problems similar to those that arise after graduating from school and leaving FFA. This is said to be the picture of the first American in the local FFA chapter in Idaho.
