PROFESSOR PHILLIPS FACES FAST-PACED NOVEMBER SCHEDULE Crisscrossing the midwest and east- coast terrain in an effort to maintain a tight list of November commitments, Professor Phillips has kept a wary eye on flight arrival and departure schedules.
On November 2, he delivered an evening lecture to the New York Academy of Science in New York City. He was consultant with the U.S. Army, Ft. Knox, Kentucky on November
4.
On November 11-14 he attended the meeting of the American Dental
Association where, as chairman of the American College of Dentists, he presented a report to the Committee on Research of that group.
On November
17
he participated in a project site visit for a study on dental polymers at Newark School of Engineering, Newark, New Jersey, on behalf of the National Institute of Dental Research.He attended a meeting of the program committee of the NIDR which was held in Chicago on November 19.
On November 28, he will be essayist for the Sioux City District Dental Society meeting to be held in Sioux City, and on November 30, he will be eulogist at the award dinner of the American Society of Cosmetic Chemists to be held at the .Americana Hotel in New York City. At that time, the Society will present the medalist award to Dr. Sol Gershon, associate director of research, Lever Brothers Company, Edgewater, New Jersey.

November 22, 1966 DR. TCHALIAN ALSO ENGAGED IN
WIDESPREAD ACTIVITY
Dr. Varoujan Tchalian presented a lecture on "Materials Used in
Maxillofacial Prosthetics for Extra- Oral Prostheses" on the occasion of the annual meeting of the American Academy of Maxillofacial Prosthetics held in Dallas, Texas, November 9- 14, 1966. At that time, he also
met with the board of directors of the American Academy of Maxillofacial Prosthetics.
On November 11, he presented a paper to the American Prosthodontic Society at the annual meeting of that group, held in Dallas. The subject of his paper was, "Different Phases of Maxillofacial Prosthetics.n
Dr. Tchalian has received an appoint- ment as a consultant in maxillofacial prosthodontics at Wright-Patterson Air Force Base, Ohio, and or- November 18 he delivered a lecture to
prosthodontic and periodontic residents and staff members of the USAF Hospital at the base.
He recently visited the Lancaster Cleft Palate Clinic, La..11caster,
Pennsylvania~ and spoke to the plastic surgery staff at a November 15 meeting.
On November 16, he delivered a lecture to senior orthodontic students on the subject, "Cleft Lip and Cleft Palate. u
DR. JORDAN PARTICIPATES IN OHIO MEETING AND MONTREAL CLINIC

Dr. David Jordan presented a table clinic on occlusion at the Ohio State Dental meeting held in Columbusj Ohio on October 5.
On October 25 he presented an all- day lecture on 11Removable Partial Dentures" at the 41st annual fall clinic of the Montreal Dental Club.
Mrs. Jordan and son, Mark, accompanied him to share in the activities and
to view the nearly completed construction

FACULTY TO HONOR DEAN HINE The Indiana University School of Dentistry faculty will have a
testimonial luncheon for Dean Maynard
K. Hine at Monte's Restaurant on Wednesday, November 23. The faculty will take this opportunity to honor Dean Hine at the conclusion of his year as president of the American Dente.l Association.
The faculty will present Dean Hine with a number of gifts, including a world-wide band general coverage radio receiver and a slide projector and screen.
NOTED FROM THE DEAN'S OFFICE
Welcome is extended to Helen M. Worland who has joined the staff in the office of the Dean. She will replace Mrs.
Rosemary Nelson in the mimeograph room when Rosemary retires to devote full time to the demanding occupation of Mother.
Dean Hine having most auspiciously completed his term as President of the American Dental Association, has returned to IUSD. His office staff took advantage of this occasion to welcome him with a cake appropriately glorified with a likeness of the School of Dentistry Building.
DR. STARKEY HEADS ASDC
Dr. Paul Starkey, chairman of the division of clinical pedodontics, was installed as president of the American Society of Dentistry for Children on Sunday, November 13th.
The Society membership includes approximately 10,000 dentists, who have as their objectives the promotion of dentistry for children, through practice, education and research.

Senior student, James Durward, attended the recent meetj_ng of the American Dental Association in Dallas to
represent Indiana University School of Dentistry at the student table clinics.
