C. Materi Pembelajaran

A quantifier is a word or phrase which is used before a noun to indicate the amount or quantity. Here some examples of quantifiers: many, much, some, any, a lot of, a few, and a little.

In English, nouns are divided into two categories, known as countable nouns and uncountable nouns. It is important to distinguish between these two nouns.

Countable nouns can be counted, for the example: books, cats, apples, eggs, etc.

Uncountable nouns cannot be counted, for the example: air, water, sugar, butter, rice, etc.

‘Many’

We use ‘many’ to describe a large quantity of plural countable nouns.

Example :

- There are many lions.

- Juki eats many bananas. countable nouns - Alvaro has many cars.

‘Much’

We use ‘much’ to describe a large quantity of uncountable nouns.

Example :

- There is much water.

- Jimin buys much salt. uncountable nouns - Jono has much money.

‘A lot of’

We use ‘a lot of’ to describe a large quantity countable nouns and uncountable nouns.

Example:

- There are a lot of mangoes.

- I have some apples. countable nouns - Suga has a lot of books

- I have some water.

- There is a lot of sugar. uncountable nouns - I need a lot of oxygen.

‘Some’

We use ‘some’ to describe a large quantity countable nouns and uncountable nouns.

Example:

- Juki has some bananas.

- I have some pencils. countable nouns - Reina has some books.

- Keisha needs some sugar.

- I need some water. uncountable nouns - Jenny needs an oxygen.

‘Any’

We use ‘any’ in the form negative form and introgative form of countable nouns and uncountable nouns.

Example:

- She doesn’t have any friends.

- I don’t have any books. countable nouns - Do they have any newspapers?

- Sarjo doesn’t have any money.

- Does lany have any butter? uncountable nouns - Do I have some sugar?

‘A few’

We use ‘a few’ to describe a small quantity of countable nouns.

Example :

- There are a few chairs

- I have a few friends. countable nouns - She has a few cars.

‘A little’

We use ‘a little’ to describe a small quantity uncountable nouns.

- I have a few money.

- She has a little butter. uncountable nouns - Rido has a little hair.

Notes:

We use the expression ‘How many’ to ask a question about a quantity of countable nouns.

Example : How many apples are there?

We use the expression ‘How much’ to ask about a quantity of uncountable nouns.

Example : How much water is there in the glass?

Pendahuluan (10 menit)

1. Guru memberikan salam, menyapa peserta didik dan mengkondisikan peserta didik agar siap belajar.

2. Guru mengawali pembelajaran dengan membaca do’a bersama-sama dengan peserta didik dikelas.

3. Guru mengecek kehadiran peserta didik.

4. Guru memberikan ice breaking agar peserta didik bersemangat untuk belajar.

15. Setiap kelompok diminta untuk menuliskan hasil menyusun coker game kedepan kelas.

Fase 5 : Menganalisis dan mengevaluasi proses pemecahan masalah

16. Guru meminta kelompok lain untuk saling mengoreksi hasil diskusi kelompok satu sama lain.

17. Guru mendampingi dan memberi arahan mengenai jawaban yang benar.

18. Guru memberikan reward kepada kelompok yang paling banyak menyusun kalimat terkait materi quantifier dalam bentuk countable and uncountable nouns dengan benar.

‘Some’

We use ‘some’ to describe a large quantity countable nouns and uncountable nouns.

Example:

- Juki has some bananas.

‘Any’

We use ‘any’ in the form negative form and introgative form of countable nouns and uncountable nouns.

Example:

- She doesn’t have any friends.

- Does lany have any butter? uncountable nouns - Do I have some sugar?

‘A few’

We use ‘a few’ to describe a small quantity of countable nouns Example :

‘A little’

We use ‘a little’ to describe a small quantity uncountable nouns - I have a few money.
