3ABSTRACT
There are millions of languages spoken all through globe. In these, English is the most commonly spoken and understood language on the globe. English is being used in almost all nation, whether as a first language, a second language, or a foreign language. Many efforts have been made to translate English-language literature into Indonesian.. Recently, many English-language literary works, such as novels, have become unavoidably translated into Indonesian. This literary translation is frequently carried out for the sake of intellectual or aesthetic satisfaction. It could be mentioned that the English literary works that are commonly accessible in Indonesian versions enable Indonesian society and get more readings, knowledge, and pleasure from them.. English, in particular, is a language that employs a large number of idioms in both spoken and written form. Many idioms found in English literatures do not have an equivalent in Indonesian. Idioms are common phrases or idioms with metaphoric meanings that are only recognized via their widespread use. Because idioms would have different meanings than words, it can be difficult for someone who isn't fluent in the language to utilize them correctly. A better definition of an idiom is a phrase whose meaning cannot be obtained from the dictionary definitions of each single word.

INTRODUCTION
Differences between the native language, named Ll, and the foreign language to be learned, called L2, are frequently the source of the problem. In this view, a competent translator should be capable of understanding the author's ideas and views, but also messages expressed in the original language, in order to reproduce a good translation (SL). He must also be skillful in translation them into the target language (SL).
Other difficulty in translation is translating idioms, which might have several meanings. As a result, he is unable to provide an exact translation. It becomes a problem because it is the meaning that is supplied first when translating.
In translating idiom, a translator must be careful, so that the message that will be transformed from source language into target language is not ambiguous. The translator must also see the context of the sentence because an idiom in English has several meanings if it is translated into Indonesian.
Many of her colleagues complained about the difficulties to translate idioms found in the materials. Since idioms contain their literal meanings, translating them needs better knowledge and experience of semantics. The point which has to be understood here is no matter how good the translation is, the objective which is emphasized in this research is to know idioms aspects in translating English text.
METHOD
This research used descriptive - qualitative research. The qualitative research referred to the meanings, concepts, definitions, characteristics, metaphors, symbols and description of things (Berg. 1989 in Mariani, 2003:45). The descriptive
research is designed to obtain information concerning the current status of phenomenon (Ary, Jacob and Razavieh, 1985:322). This research is conducted with the objective to describe the data of the students' ability and any possible error of students' comprehension in translating English Idiom into Indonesian.
.FINDINGS AND DISCUSSION Differences between the native language (Ll) and the foreign language to be learned (L2) are frequently the source of the difficulty.
In this light, a skilled translator must be able to comprehend the author's ideas and views, as well as messages expressed in the original language, in order to produce a good translation (SL). He must be able to translate them into the target language with ease (SL). Other translation problems involve interpreting idiomatic expressions, which might have several meanings. As a result, he is unable to translate accurately. It creates a difficulty since the primary focus of translation is on the meaning.
CLOSING Conclusion
Based on the result of the research and data analysis, the researcher can conclude that:
The students of this research have any difficulty in conveying the message of the English Idiom into Indonesian. It is proved in their translation result, most of the students in this research used free translation to translate the English Idiom into Indonesian. which made the exact meaning or the sense of the idiom have changed in their Indonesian translation.
The students of this research seem have a lack of knowledge in English Idiom and English culture, they also have a lack of knowledge in
translation; therefore they can’t able to understand exact meaning of the idiom in English, and translate it into Indonesian.
