This course contains basic concepts in the analysis and design of prestressed concrete structural elements. The course covers the following subjects to be learned and discussed: introduction of prestressed concrete structures, material properties and specifications in prestressed concrete systems, basic principles of prestressed concrete elements, approaches in the design of prestressed concrete beam elements (flexural, shear, torsion), deflection control , detailed calculations of prestress losses, analysis and design of prestressed concrete system on special elements:composite member, compression member, tensile member, slab.
