COMPUTATIONAL DATA FOR THE PAPER “A NOTE ON CONSTRUCTIONS OF THE LEECH LATTICE”

Abstract. We explain the contents of the computational data that was used in the paper “A note on constructions of the Leech lattice”.

1. Introduction This paper explains the numerical data for the paper

[Note] Ichiro Shimada: A note on constructions of the Leech lattice.

The data is written in the plain text file

ConstructionsLeech.txt

in GAPformat. The term “record” that appears below means the data structure used byGAP. The paper and the data are available from the author’s web page.

2. The data

In the fileConstructionsLeech.txt, the following two data are written.

2.1. Niemeier lattices. The dataNiemeierLatticesis the list of 23 records for the isomorphism classes of Niemeier lattices with roots. Each record contains nu- merical data of a negative-definite Niemeier lattice N with roots. These records are sorted in the descending order of the Coxeter number hofN.

In this data, each Niemeier lattice N is equipped with a certain basis, and vectors ofN are expressed as row vectors with respect to this basis.

Each record has the following items.

tau is the ADE-type τ(N) = τ(N)1+· · ·+τ(N)K. For example, the ADE-typeD4+ 4A5 is written as[ "D4", "A5", "A5", "A5", "A5" ].

his the Coxeter numberhofN.

Gramis the Gram matrix ofN (with respect to the fixed basis ofN).

Theta is the list [Θ1, . . . ,ΘK] of lists Θi of (2)-vectors in R. The list Θi forms a connected ordinary ADE-configuration of type τ(N)i, and the disjoint union of Θ1, . . . ,ΘK is a simple root system Θ⊂Rof the negative- definite root lattice⟨R⟩.

musis the list [µ1, . . . , µK] of the highest roots µi ∈ ⟨Θi with respect to Θi.

ms is the list [m1, . . . , mK] of functions mi: Θi Z>0 defined in Sec- tion 2.3 of the paper [Note]. Each function mi is presented by the list [mi(r1), . . . , mi(rni)] of integers, where Θi is given by the list [r1, . . . , rni] of (2)-vectors in the item Thetaabove.

rhosis the list [ρ1, . . . , ρK] of the vectorsρi∈ ⟨Θi⟩⊗Qsatisfying⟨r, ρiN = 1 for allr∈Θi.

rhois the Weyl vector ρ=ρ1+· · ·+ρK ofN with respect to Θ.

code indicates the isomorphism class of the finite abelian group N/⟨R⟩. For example, the empty list [ ] indicates N/⟨R⟩ = 0, and the list [2,3]

indicatesN/⟨R⟩ ∼=Z/2Z×Z/3Z.

codewords is the list of codewords of the code N/⟨R⟩. Each codeword γ∈N/⟨R⟩is presented by its canonical representative ˜γ∈N.

2.2. The Leech lattice. The data LeechLattice is a record that contains nu- merical data of the negative-definite Leech lattice Λ. The Leech lattice Λ is equipped with a certain basis, and vectors of ΛQare expressed as row vectors with respect to this basis. This record has the following items.

Gramis the Gram matrix of Λ (with respect to the fixed basis of Λ).

holesis the list of Co-equivalence classes of deep holes. These equivalence classes are sorted by the corresponding Niemeier lattices in the same order as in the dataNiemeierLattices. Each Co-equivalence class is described by a record that contains the following items.

center is the vector c ΛQ of a deep hole in this equivalence class.

tauis the ADE-typeτ(c) =τ(c)1+· · ·+τ(c)K. For example, the ADE- typeD4+ 4A5is expressed as[ "D4", "A5", "A5", "A5", "A5" ].

his the the Coxeter number hof the deep holec.

P0is the list of vectors λ∈ Λ such that d(λ, c)2 = 2. This list P0 is given as a list [P01, . . . ,P0K] in such a way that P0is decomposed as the disjoint union ofP01, . . . ,P0K, and that, for i= 1, . . . , K, the set of Leech roots Ξ0(c)i ={rλ |λ∈P0i} of LΛ with respect to wΛ

forms an extended connected ADE-configuration of typeτ(c)i.

P1is the list of vectors λ∈Λ such thatd(λ, c)2= 2(1 + 1/h).
