14 UniMAP STUDENTS OBTAIN KNOWLEDGE AT ASP 2017

PAUH PUTRA, 18 September – The opportunity to attend the Asia Summer Programme (ASP) afforded valuable experience to 14 Universiti Malaysia Perlis (UniMAP) students, who visited Guangdong University Of Foreign Studies in Guangzhou, China for three weeks recently.

During the programme, participants got to experience an international environment which allowed them to learn about a variety of Asian cultures.

Ellina Yasmin Yusri, a third year Photonic Engineering student, said that during the programme she was able to better understand and learn more about various Asian cultures through other foreign students.

“The chance to participate in ASP 2017 was fully utilised by my companions and I so as to be able to cross over and appreciate our comrades' cultures from other countries.

“This programme has been a positive impact in my life and hope that UniMAP will continue to take part in this event in the future,” she said.

Meanwhile, Ng Wei Bin, a third year Electronic Biomedical Engineering student, expressed his gratitude to UniMAP for allowing him the opportunity to attend ASP 2017.

“I am proud to be able to represent UniMAP and the nation in delivering and sharing knowledge of our culture and the uniqueness that is Malaysia internationally.

“I am certain that the experience and knowledge accumulated from this programme especially from the teaching staff from various nations that taught us many beneficial things to be shared among our comrades in Malaysia,” he said.

ASP is a credited international mobility programme that ran for three weeks involving university students from relevant courses taught by leading instructors from each participating university.
