This chapter includes background information on the project study, problem statement and project objectives as well as the scope of the study. The project will focus on research into the emerging Bluetooth™ technology that exists as one of the methods for handling and simplifying the workload, as it is the only specification targeted at this new cable replacement market. Additionally, the capabilities and reliability of applicable electronic equipment can be tested and integrated through.
Basically, a product or prototype is one of the requirements in completing the project in an excellent and effective approach. At the beginning of the project, the author must analyze the need for applications and hardware to generate a functional product in delivering the results of research conducted on Bluetooth™ technology. Within the timeframe, the Enhancing Presentation via Bluetooth™ Technology in Higher Education Institutions project is feasible enough to complete with a working prototype that will expand the use of wireless technology.
We can look at both ends of the cable and discover the connected devices communicating with each other. Bluetooth™ is one of the new technologies available today and is a part of wireless word that can integrate phones, palm devices and any electronic devices that support the protocol.
Standard Technology
128-bit encryption provides your data with one of the highest encryption security currently available for authentication. In the Daily News on ''Wireless Generation shows handheld assessment software in Senate hearing on education technology'' in Washington DC. In the report, the company's easy-to-use portable computing applications provide rich and meaningful information about student performance in the palm of the teacher's hand and provide robustness.
This can improve students* performance during class in an attractive way with the wireless technology. The lecture in its many forms is the most widely used method of transmitting information. When discussing the effective presentation of knowledge transfer to students, we need to consider and examine the characteristics of the instructor first hand.
METHODOLOGY USED
Preliminary Information Gathering
- Primary Sources ~Unstructured Interview and Class Survey
- Secondary Sources - Published Materials
Class size measurements were also being taken to obtain the building plan. In addition, data information on the study was also collected through books, journals, white papers and the internet. Data were obtained from the analyzed questionnaires to see the feasibility of the application of Bluetooth™ Technology in the educator's presentation.
All data were processed through Microsoft Excel in the form of bar graphs to visualize the percentage of information collected from the survey conducted before. The simulation of the data transfer between a Bluetooth™ enabled handheld device such as Pocket PC and a PC facilitated with a Bluetooth™ USB dongle was proposed to represent the project. Two phases of the presentation were included in the simulation which were conventional approach and wireless approach using Bluetooth™ gadgets.
TOOLS REQUIRED
It is a main application used in the presentation of the teacher or . teaches throughout the semester. This is the software that must be installed in the Pocket PC to run the .. application of the MicrosoftCg) application such as Microsoft® PowerPoint,. The first essential element in bringing this technology to people out there is the initial knowledge of the wireless technology itself.
In this process, software technology built into the Bluetooth™ transmitter chip triggers an automatic connection to offer and accept. One of the common goals shared by the IEEE and the Bluetooth™ SIG is the global use of wireless personal area networks (PANs). The performance characteristics of Bluetooth™ products operating in the 24 GHz range can be summarized in Table 4.1.
The master is the device in a piconet whose clock and hopping sequence is used to synchronize all other devices such as slaves in the piconet. Although synchronization of different piconets is not allowed in the unlicensed ISM band, units using Bluetooth™ wireless technology can participate in different piconets through time division multiplexing (TDM). To check for the validity of the Bluetooth™ range in giving and retrieving signal from every electronic device in the classrooms and halls, the author has the size of the classes in the new academic area of Universiti Teknologi PETRONAS (UTP) investigation.
Since the focus is more on the lecturer's experience and opinions, this type of design would be more appropriate in the study. In this section of questionnaires, the author wants to elicit more details about the respondent's knowledge level about the wireless application and technology such as for the investigation of the possibility of implementing it in the classroom or lecture hall. This shows that there is positive acceptance among the respondents about the possibility of implementing the technology in the classroom.
Every time the presenter wants to open a file or folder on the Pocket PC through the PC. The presenter can move around with a handheld computer while controlling the slide presentation in the classroom. However, there is a spatial restriction that must be placed on moving a presenter from an access point on a PC to a.
RELEVANCY TO THE OBJECTIVES
Because Bluetooth™ is so new. almost any application can be called futuristic, but we will take a look at some of those that can be considered as an add-on or add-on. These applications take advantage to varying degrees of Bluetooth™'s ability to always be on. always connected, portable and easy to use. The slides are then converted to a special format or using a PowerPoint plug-in to export them. converted to a special format or using a PowerPoint plugin to export them.
When the instructor arrives in class, he launches Presenter on both a tablet PC and a second machine connected to the data projector, then goes through a short connection sequence and broadcasts the slides. Teaching is done from the tablet PC and the students. view the slides and texts projected on a screen. One of the most exciting aspects of Bluetooth™ wireless technology is that devices can communicate with each other and form a wireless personal network.
This can allow personal devices to increase their usefulness, as they can be easily used in multiple environments. In such a situation, such as based on the situations above, this product can enhance the instructor's presentation by allowing two-way communication. At the same time, these students can freely mark some important points on the slide presentation.
For example, home theater systems are often deployed in multiple locations in the room, or even in adjacent rooms, making Bluetooth™ the ideal control medium. If ever, home theater system is applied as one of the learning equipment in this university. A Bluetooth™-equipped writing instrument that automatically digitizes its movements can be used to enable the user to easily email a drawing or handwritten note to any recipient via a paired mobile phone.

APPENDIX B
The idea that resulted in Bluetooth wireless technology was born in 1994 when Ericsson Mobile Communications decided to investigate the possibility of a low-power, low-cost radio interface between mobile phones and their accessories. While usage models describe target applications and devices, Profiles define how to use the Bluetooth protocol stack for an interoperable solution. Profiles are part of the Bluetooth Specification and all devices must be tested against one or more profiles in order to meet Bluetooth certification requirements.
The Bluetooth qualification program ensures global interoperability between devices regardless of vendor and regardless of the country in which they are used. The Bluetooth specification defines a short-range (around 1G meter} or optionally medium-range (around 100 meters) radio link with the ability to transmit voice or data at a maximum capacity of 720 kilobits per second (kb/s) per channel. The Bluetooth hardware consists of an analog radio work and digital work - Host Controller.
The processor core allows the Bluetooth module to handle queries and filter page requests without involving the host device. There is no single competitor that covers the entire concept of Bluetooth wireless technology, but there are other technologies in certain market segments. IrDA is faster than Bluetooth wireless technology, but is limited to point-to-point connections and primarily requires a clear line of sight.
IrDA has had problems in the past with incompatible standard implementations, a lesson the Bluetooth SIG has learned. The other 2.4 GHz radio is the Home RF which has many similarities with the wireless Bluetooth. In 1994, Ericsson invented the wireless short-range technology, which in 1998 became widely known under the name Bluetooth.
Bluetooth cores from Ericsson are pre-qualified, meaning no additional qualification is required.
