THE HOLY GOSPEL (Lk 17:26-37) The Holy Gospel according to St. Luke,

Jesus said to his disciples, “As it was in the days of Noah, so it will be in the days of the Son of Man; they were eating, drinking, marrying and giving in marriage up to the day that Noah entered the ark, and the flood came and destroyed them all. Similarly, as it was in the days of Lot: they were eating, drinking, buying. Selling, planting, building; on the day when Lot left Sodom, fire and brimstone rained from the sky to destroy them all. So it will be on the day the Son of Man is revealed. On that day, a person who is on the house top and whose belongings are in the house must not go down to get them, and likewise a person in the field must not return to what was left behind. Remember the wife of Lot. Who ever seeks to preserve his life will lose it, but whoever loses it will save it. I tell you, on that night there will be two people in one bed; one will be taken, the other left. And there will be two women grinding meal together; one will be taken, the other left. They said to him in reply, “Where, Lord?” He said to them, “Where the body is, there also the vultures will gather.”

Reflections:

Noah was the only one who found favor in God’s eyes in his generation, for he is a model of watchfulness, an exemplar of faith who believes in God’s word, and a herald of the divine justice who announce to man the imminent judgment of God.

We cannot go through our life only to satisfy our physical needs til the end of our life. We have to render an account to Jesus who will come back to separate the watchful from the unprepared, tne faithful from the unfaithful, and the just from the unjust. Are you ready then to meet the Lord?

Prayer:

Let us pray,

Lord, help us to live our daily life worthy in Your eyes. Amen.

St. John Baptist De La Salle…Pray for us!

Live Jesus in our hearts…Forever!

FROM THE OVCAR – OFFICE OF THE INTEGRATED SCHOOL PRINCIPAL:

1. On National Simultaneous Earthquake Drill

1.1 Today we shall have an earthquake drill which will take place after the morning prayers. In the memo of the Office of Civil Defense (OCD) it should be held at 9:00am; however, it is deemed necessary that we make an adjustment on the time so as not to disrupt us amidst our planned learning activities. Likewise, we do not want our students to be exposed under severe sunlight.

1.2 The alarm system will be activated by the GSD (for a minute or so) just to prompt us that there is a make- belief ground shaking. In a real earthquake scenario (May God forbid.) there shall be no activation of the alarm system but we should remember that we should “DUCK, COVER and HOLD!” After the ground shaking that is the only time we can proceed to the evacuation site.

2. NCAE Orientation for the Room Examiners (RE’s) and the Examinees’ Advisers will be on Monday, Nov. 17, 2:00pm instead of 3:00 pm as previously announced at MMR 1. Teachers who have classes need to prepare SW for the students and submit it to the AP Office.

3. Grades for the 2nd Quarter can be viewed online starting today. Students are reminded to inform their parents about this.

FROM THE OVCAR – GRADE SCHOOL COMMUNITY:

From the Assistant Principal

3. Congratulations to the honors and achievers for the second quarter. Keep up the good work!

FROM THE OVCAR – REGISTRAR’ OFFICE:

Online viewing of grades for the 2nd quarter starts today.

FROM THE OVCAD – INSTITUTIONAL HEALTH SERVICES:

Continuation… Tips on staying healthy amid rapidly changing weather!

Why can changes in the weather be so dangerous?

The human body needs to stay within a certain temperature range in order to stay healthy, between 36.5-37 degrees Celsius. But when outside influences such weather conditions change suddenly, the body’s own regulation mechanisms can be caught unaware, thus triggering changes in the body’s temperature. As the immune system works in concert with these regulatory systems, it is also affected. People are most at risk of becoming ill during periods of seasonal transition.

How to dress for changing weather conditions

During the winter, you should wear outfits that allow air to circulate. Make sure your underclothes breathe and do not make you sweat and make sure you wear layers that are easy to take off and put on according to the temperature. You will find that the tightness or the looseness of your outfits can also pose a problem in terms keeping your body warm enough, so wear clothes that are a comfortable fit, neither too tight nor too loose.
