Abstract

Choral videoke singing has been

aputof

the Remedial Reading Program

of

Madapdap Resettlement

High

School since school year 2006

-

2007 . For the

first

time, this school

year20ll -2012,

its effectiveness

in

improving the reading fluency of its

first

year high school struggling readers was the focus

of

this study. Using the single-group pretest-posttest experimental design

of

research, reading fluency was measured in three dimensions

-

accuracy)rate,' and prosody.

After

the choral videoke singing intervention, Paired-Samples

t

Test showed that there was a significant average difference in the accuftrcy and rate of the struggling readers; the same result was also proven in pr.gsody using the

Wilcoxon

Signed Rank Test.
