Abstract

Cancer has been one of the most threatening

illnesses globally. F-aith and Hope have been essential

for

in life

and experiences. ^The level of hope and

spirituality

plays a

vital role

to patients diagnased witlz

cancer. Spiritual

coping may

also

serve tnultiple

frnrctions in long-term

adjustment

to

cancer such as maintaining self-esteem,

providing

a sense of tneaning and purpose,

giving

emotional comfort and

praviding

a sense oJ'hope.

With a ^{total sample size} of ^80, this study aims to

knrsw the determinant/s

that affect

cancer patients-who undergo chemotherapy. Specifically, the researcher is interested in

the level of hope and spirituatity. A descriptive

cross*sectionat

quantitative

research type

was

Herth Hope Index

Spirituality

Scale

were

employed

to

assess

the hope

levels and

spirituality

levels

of

the respondents, respectively. Results showed a Herth Hope [ndex mean score of
