Psycho-Social Factors and Time Management Ability Related to Responsibility Behavior of Students in Part Time Bachelors of

Abstract

The objectives of correlate comparison study were: 1) the power of internal and external factors, within group and subgroup, in order to predict the responsibility behavior of students and 2) the interaction between internal and external factors related to responsibility behavior of students, within group and subgroup. The sample size of the study was 260 students in part time bachelors of Rajamangala University of Technology Phra Nakhon. Descriptive statistics, Stepwise multiple regressions and two-way ANOVA were used for statistics analysis in overall group and subgroup according to socio-demographic characteristics. The research findings were as follows: 1) There were 4 factors in overall group altogether that could explain 61% of the variance of responsibility behavior, with attitude toward responsibility behavior, achievement motive, future orientation and self-control, and social support, respectively. Within 8 subgroups of male students, female students, younger group, older group, single students, married student, after working hours on weekday students and weekend students, attitude toward responsibility behavior was found to be the first predicting factor. Within older group, married students and weekend students, achievement motive was found to be the first predicting factor, 2) students with high level of future orientation and social support were more likely to have responsibility ability in overall group and 3) students with high level of time management ability and high level of social support were more likely to have responsibility behavior in overall group, male students, older group, and weekend students.
