Listening is one of English skills and it is one of the ways to learn English. Listening is more than merely hearing words. Listening is an active process from responding to spoken. Teaching listening skill is one of the most difficult skills for any ESL teachers.There are some problems in listening, not only the problem from internal factors that influence listeningability, but also the problems come from external factors too, like enjoyable in learning process, technique of teaching listening, and motivation of the students to listen English conversation. It is because there are many students who get some difficulties in understanding a monologue text. Thus, it means that the English teacher should use an interesting technique of teaching that can make the students more active in classroom. Drama is one of suitable technique that can be used by the teacher in teaching English. Because by using drama technique, students more active in the classroom and they feel fun and enjoyable in teaching learning process. So, drama hopefully can improve the listening ability of the students.

control class was 70 (sufficient) and mean of the experimental class was 78.6 (good). Thus, the researcher concluded that the use of Think-Pair-Square strategy for the eleventh grade students of MA NU BANAT Kudus in the academic year 2011/2012 could improve their speaking ability because the mean of experimental class was higher than the mean of control class. The students who were taught through Think-Pair-Square got better score than the students who were not being taught by it.

The results of the experiment in pre test before being taught by using Video Recorded are: the minimum score is 52, the maximum score is 72 and the mean of pre test is 59.7. Meanwhile the standard deviation is 5.8. It indicates that the speaking ability of the eleventh grade students of SMA 1 Mejobo Kudus in Academic Year 2012/2013 before being taught by using Video Recorded is categorized as sufficient.The results of the experiment in post test after being taught by using Video Recorded are: the minimum score is 56, the maximum score is 88and the mean of post test is 72.9. Meanwhile the standard deviation is 7.6. It indicates that the speaking ability of the eleventh grade students of SMA 1 Mejobo Kudus in Academic Year 2012/2013 after being taught by using Video Recorded is categorized as good. After processing the data found, the mean of the post test is better than the pre test. (72.9> 59.7).The t observation (t 0 ) is 13.2,the

The result of this research shows that: The Ability of Writing Report Text of the Eleventh Grade Students of SMA 1 Gebog Kudus in the Academic Year 2012/2013 after being Taught by using WebQuest as a Media is categorized “good” . The mean and standard deviation are 77.13 and 6.6. Mean while, the Ability of Writing Report Text of the Eleventh Grade Students of SMA 1 Gebog Kudus in the Academic Year 2012/2013 before being Taught by using WebQuest as Media is categ orized “sufficient” . The mean and standard deviation are 70,5 and 6.04. The result of t-observation is 7.1. It is grater than t-table that is 2.02. it is concluded that There is a significant difference between the Ability of Writing Report Text of the Eleventh Grade Students of SMA 1 Gebog Kudus in the Academic Year 2012/2013 before and after being Taught by using WebQuest as a media, it is showed by to: 7.1 > t-table: 2.02. The data were collected by giving test those are pre-test and post-test.

THE STORY RETELLING ABILITY OF ELEVENTH GRADE STUDENTS OF SMA N 1 JEKULO KUDUS IN ACADEMIC YEAR 20132014 TAUGHT BY USING ENGLISH COMIC

Hasil penelitian ini menunjukkan kemampuan menceritakan kembali kelas sebelas SMA N 1 Jekulo Kudus di tahun ajaran 2013/2014 sebelum mengajar menggunakan komik bahasa Inggris dikategorikan “rendah”. Dari hasil pretest, rata - rata pretest 59,58 dan standar deviasi 6,25 sementara itu hasil kemampuan menceritakan kembali dikelas sebelas SMA N 1 Jekulo Kudus di tahun ajaran 2013/2014 setelah mengajar menggunakan komik bahasa Inggris dapat dikategorikan “cukup”. Rata -rata posttest 73,81 dan standar deviasi 5,7. Tingkat signifikan 0,05 dan derajat kebebasan 35 ada perbedaan signifikan antara kemampuan menceritakan kembali cerita dikelas sebelas SMA N 1 Jekulo Kudus di tahun ajaran 2013/2014 sebelum dan setelah mengajar menggunakan komik bahasa Inggris. Hal itu ditunjukkan dari hasil hitungan dari t-observasi 13,88 dan t-table 2,04 . Dengan kata lain , t-observasi lebih tinggi dari t-tabel (t o =13,88 > t t = 2,04 ).

Menulis adalah sebuah proses complex yang memperkenankan beberapa penulis untuk menggali pmikiran dan ide-ide nya dan membuat mereka (pmikiran dan ide-ide) nampak dan konkrit. Didalam belajar bahasa inggris, siswa-siswa mendapatkan beberapa kesulitan khusunya menulis bahasa inggris, mereka tidak bisa menggali ide mereka karena mereka tidak mempunyai cukup pengetahuan. Hal itu terjadi di MAN 2 Kudus, khususnya siswa kelas sebelas MAN 2 Kudus. Kemampuan menulis mereka masih rendah, tetapi kebanyakan dari mereka bisa berbicara bahasa inggris.
