Exercise 1
For this exercise you need the files provided in the "CW8 files" folder and the shaft assembly you created earlier in Classwork #7. Place all the files in a single folder.
In this exercise, the shaft assembly created earlier (in Classwork#7) will be mounted on a base where it will be supported by three rolling-contact bearings of different types as seen in the figure below.
You are required to do the following:
1. Edit the part named "Housing 3" and use the Design Library to add an internal retaining ring groove according to the specifications given in figure # 4.

2. Rename the shaft assembly you created in CW7 as "Shaft Sub-Assembly"
3. Start a new assembly file and create the assembly shown above. Note that all the non-standard components (such as the base and bearing housings) are already available in the folder. Each of the standard components used in the assembly shall be obtained from the appropriate toolbox (refer to the figures given in the following pages for the specifications of the standard components). You will need to insert the shaft assembly you created in CW7 as a sub-assembly in your assembly file.
4. Define an Exploded View for your assembly and make sure that you follow the logical disassembly order when defining your exploded view (which will be completely different than the order that was used for making this assembly).
Then use the Motion Study tool to create an assembly animation movie.
5. Generate an assembly drawing that contains sufficient number of views to show all of the components of your assembly. Add an "indented" bill of materials (BOM) to your drawing and the necessary balloons to identify the components of your assembly. Refer to the drawing on page 4.
Save your drawing as a PDF file.
