Berdasarkan pemaparan diatas, setelah subjek mengikuti terapi eksistensial, ia menyadari bahwa dirinya memiliki pandangan negatif, tidak menghargai kelebihan yang dimilikinya, dan selalu membandingkan diri dengan orang lain. Subjek pun akhirnya mampu mengubah perspektifnya terhadap orang lain dan dirinya dengan membangun hubungan sosial bersama teman-temannya dan keluarga, sehingga subjek tidak lagi mengisolasi diri dan memiliki minat untuk melanjutkan hidup. Hasil penelitian ini dapat menjawab pertanyaan penelitian yaitu subjek mengalami peningkatan harga diri dan penurunan gejala depresi setelah diterapkannya terapi eksistensial dengan melibatkan teknik biblioterapi. Subjek dapat merasakan emosi positif terhadap dirinya dan menilai usaha yang dilakukannya secara positif.

Implikasi dari penelitian ini adalah selain tidak dilakukan pengukuran skala pada saat proses intervensi, peneliti juga tidak melakukan multiple baseline sehingga perubahan subjek hanya bisa dilihat dari skor pra dan pasca intervensi saja. Jadi, saran untuk peneliti selanjutnya adalah perlu dilakukan pengukuran

baseline agar data kuantitatif dapat dijelaskan secara detail. Peneliti lain juga dapat

menambahkan subjek yang memiliki kriteria sama untuk mengetahui keefektifitasan terapi eksistensial dan teknik bibliotherapy dalam menangani kasus-kasus klinis seperti rendahnya harga diri dan gangguan depresi. Serta untuk mengetahui adakah perbedaan antara intervensi yang diberikan secara individu dengan perlakuaan yang dilakukan secara kelompok. Selain itu, dapat pula dilakukan penelitian lebih mendalam dengan membandingkan hasil penelitian pada kelompok kontrol dan eksperimen. Rekomendasi untuk subjek adalah perlunya konsistensi dalam melakukan aktivitas sehari-hari dan terus mengembangkan diri untuk menemukan potensi/kelebihan yang dimiliki agar semakin dapat mempertahankan harga diri yang positif.
