Ada 4 program yang berhubungan dengan efisiensi energi yang telah dijalani oleh CIT yaitu:
a. Perbaikan compressed air system. b. Optimasi Penerangan di komplek pabrik.
c. Perbaikan sistim motor pada proses Heat Treatment. d. Optimasi penggunaan gas pada proses Heat
Treatment.
Disamping program jangka pendek diatas, Perseroan memiliki tujuan jangka panjang yaitu mengurangi intensitas penggunaan energi hingga 20% pada tahun 2020 berdasarkan hasil intensitas energi tahun 2008. Sampai sejauh ini perusahaan telah melakukan benchmarking secara eksternal dengan perusahaan sejenis.
l Konservasi Air
Program konservasi air yang telah dilakukan oleh Perseroan antara lain :
a. Pemanfaatan air hujan untuk pendingin furnace. b. Daur ulang air pada proses quenching di Heat
Treatment proses.
c. Daur ulang air pada process NDT.
Rencana strategis juga telah dibuat Perseroan untuk mencapai target dan sasaran yang sehubungan dengan konservasi air sampai tahun 2020.
l Pengurangan Pencemar Udara
Aktifitas pengurangan pencemar udara dibawah koordinasi Manajer Energi berserta timnya yang kompeten, telah mempunyai target target yang salah satunya adalah pengurangan energi yang berkaitan erat dengan pengurangan pencemaran udara yaitu dengan cara mengurangi intensitas penggunaan energi gas yang secara langsung dapat mengurangi bahan pencemar udara konvensional maupun gas rumah kaca (GRK).
Program Pengurangan pencemaran udara yang dilakukan antara lain:
n Meningkatkan efisiensi produksi melalui perawatan
panas pipa dengan melakukan refractory ceramic pada furnace hardening dan tempering.
n Konversi dari bahan bakar solar/diesel menjadi natural
gas sejak tahun 2005.
n Pemasangan scrubber di cerobong electroplating
untuk mengurangi pencemaran udara.
Rencana strategis yang dilakukan oleh perusahaan dalam upaya mencapai tujuan dan sasaran pengurangan pencemar udara yang relevan dengan kebijakan lingkungan antara lain:
a) Menetapkan semua bahan bakar untuk fasilitas produksi dengan bahan bakar natural gas.
b) Menggunakan refrigerant yang ramah lingkungan untuk semua AC dilingkungan perusahaan. Sebagai bentuk penaatan terhadap peraturan pemerintah, Perusahaan telah melakukan pemantauan emisi cerobong di 15 titik lokasi proses produksi dan pengukuran serta pemantauannya dilakukan oleh laboratorium terakreditasi setiap 6 bulan sekali dan 1 tahun sekali.

Process.
Apart from the short term program as stated above, the Company has long term program such as to reduce the intensity of energy usage to 20% in 2020 based on the results made in 2008.
In so far, the Company have made benchmarking compared with external similar industry.
l Water Conservation
The program of water conservation done by the Company among others are:
a. Use rain water to cool the furnace.
b. Use recycle water for the process of quenching in the Heat Treatment process.
c. Recycle water in the NDT Process.
The strategic plans have made the Company to achieve the target and goals related to water conservation up to year 2020.
l Reducing the Air Pollution
The Energy Manager with his competent team has made the targets and one of them is to reduce the usage of energy which has a direct impact to the environment that is to reduce the intensity of gas usage which may reduce the air pollution conventionally and glass houses.
The Program of reducing air pollution involved in: n Increasing the efficiency of production in the heat
treatment process, refractory ceramic is used at the hardening and tempering furnaces.
n Converting the usage of oil to natural gas since 2005.
n Installing scrubber in the electroplating chimney to reduce air pollution.
Strategic plans made by the Company to achieve the target and goals in reducing air pollution related to the environment policies are:
a) Set all sources of energy for production facilities with natural gas.
b) Use environment friendly refrigerant for all air conditioning system in the Company.
In observing the regulations of the government, the Company has monitored the emission of chimneys at 15 points of production location. This monitoring is done by a reliable laboratory every 6 months and once every year.
l Sistim Pengelolaan Limbah B3
Ada beberapa program yang dilakukan oleh Perseroan sebagai salah satu bentuk komitmen untuk mengurangi dampak pengaruh limbah B3 pada lingkungan yaitu: a. Pembuatan IPAL (Instalasi Pengolahan Air Limbah) Dimana IPAL ini dibuat untuk mengurangi dampak limbah cair yang dihasilkan oleh proses pelapisan logam (phosphating dan electroplating). Air hasil olahan IPAL ini sebelum dibuang ke saluran umum terlebih dahulu dilakukan pengukuran oleh pihak internal Perseroan untuk memastikan bahwa air limbah hasil olahan adalah layak buang sesuai dengan peraturan lingkungan yang berlaku. Pemastian hasil olahan ini juga dilakukan setiap bulannya, dimana pengukurannya dilakukan oleh pihak ke-3 dilokasi titik pengambilan contoh yang telah ditentukan.
b. Pembuatan Saluran Sistim Tertutup (Close Drain System) Saat ini Perseroan sedang dalam tahap pembuatan saluran tertutup tahap 2 dimana pembuatan saluran ini dilakukan untuk memisahkan antara air hujan dengan air limbah cair domestik dan limbah cair produksi. Limbah cair domestik dan limbah cair produksi akan disalurkan melalui pipa tertutup menuju kolam areasi.
c. Penyediaan Tempat Penyimpanan Sementara Limbah B3 (TPS)
Pengambilan limbah B3 dari area produksi dilakukan setiap hari oleh tim HSE untuk kemudian dikumpulkan di 2 tempat penyimpanan sementara (TPS) yang telah memiliki izin dari Bapedalda Batam. Selanjutnya pendataan limbah dilakukan dan dilaporkan kepada setiap departemen terkait dilingkungan perusahaan tentang status limbah B3 yang dihasilkan sebagai acuan terhadap tindakan yang harus dilakukan selanjutnya. Dalam hal pelaporan limbah yang dihasilkan, Perseroan membuat data neraca limbah dan secara periodik dilaporkan ke pihak Pemerintahan berupa laporan PROPER setiap 3 bulan sekali dan UKL/UPL setiap 6 bulan sekali.
l Sertifikasi di Bidang Lingkungan
Dalam hal sertifikasi Sistim Manajemen Lingkungan, Perseroan telah memiliki sertifikasi ISO 14001 : 2004. Sistim Manajemen Lingkungan (SML) yang merujuk pada ISO14001 ini memiliki tujuan utama yaitu:
a. Pengurangan pencemaran lingkungan; b. Mengurangi keluhan masyarakat; c. Peningkatan efisiensi pada proses; d. Pemenuhan peraturan;
e. Peningkatan kinerja manajemen/moral kerja; f. M e n i n g k a t k a n k e p u a s a n k o n s u m e n , d a n
meningkatkan penjualan.
Sebagai penunjang SML tersebut, perusahan juga memperoleh sertifikasi OHSAS 18001: 2007 dan SMK3 untuk Sistim Manajemen K3 serta sertifikasi ISO 9001 : 2008 untuk Sistim Manajemen Mutu.
l Hazard Waste Management System
There are a few programs being tackled by the Company as one of its commitments to reduce the impact of hazard waste to the environment:
a. Setting up IPAL (installation of waste water treatment) In the waste water treatment is installed to reduce the impact of waste water produced by the phosphating and electroplating process to the environment. Before the output of water treated water is drained to the public water drain channel, the water is measured to ensure that the quality of water fulfills the required prevailing environmental regulations. This test is done every month by a third party at the located points.
b. Building Close Drain System
The Company is building a close drain system phase 2 this is to separate the rain water with domestic waste fluid and waste fluid from the production. Domestic waste in the form of fluid and production waste fluid will be channeled through close drain system to the aeration pool.
c. Temporary storage of waste fluid
The samples taking of waste fluid from the production sites is done every day by HSE and later collected at 2 temporary storage of waste fluid which has obtained the license from the Bapedalda Batam. Next the data of the waste is taken and reported to every related department of the Company on the status of the produced waste as a reference to what actions should be taken.
After compiling the data, the Company report the results Government in the form of PROPER every 3 months and UKL/UPL every 6 months.
l Certification in the Environment sector
The Environment management system of the Company have obtained the certification of ISO 14001:2004; System management of environment complies with ISO 14001 has the main objectives:
a. Reduce polluting the environment; b. Reduce complaints from the community; c. Improve the efficiency of the process; d. Fulfilled the regulations;
e. Improve the performance of management/working attitude;
f. Increase the satisfaction of the customers and increase sales revenue.
To support the environment management system, the Company has obtained the certification of OHSAS 18001:2007 and SMK3 for Management system K3 and certification of ISO 9001:2008 for Quality Management
Penerapan sistim-sistim manajemen diatas sangat berpengaruh pada kinerja perusahaan baik lingkungan, keselamatan dan kesehatan kerja serta kualitas produk yang dihasilkan. Karena pencapaian inilah pada tahun 2010 dan 2011 Perseroan mendapat Penghargaan dari BAPELDA Batam sebagai "Perusahaan Terbaik dalam Pengelolaan Lingkungan Hidup kategori Industri" dan PROPER Biru tahun 2012 dari Kementrian Lingkungan Hidup.
The implementation of management systems above, have a great influence to the performance of the Company in terms of environment and the manufactured product quality. In 2010 and 2011, the Company has been awarded "the Best Company in Managing the environment in the category of Industry" and PROPER Blue in 2012 from the Ministry of Environment.
l Kesetaraan Gender dan Kesempatan Kerja
Perusahaan menekankan dalam penerapan etika dan kebijakan antara lain:
n Adil dan anti-diskriminasi: seorang pimpinan

Sebagai upaya pemastian lingkungan kerja terkait K3, Perseroan melakukan pemantauan dan penilaian kinerja K3L dimana hasil dari pemantauan dan penilaian akan digunakan sebagai dasar dalam penyusunan rencana pengembangan dan pembinaan secara berkelanjutan dalam upaya pemenuhan parameter terkait K3L. Program pengurangan pencemaran udara baik pencemar udara konvensional maupun Gas Rumah kaca juga dilakukan Perseroan antara lain:
a. Meningkatkan efisiensi furnace dengan penggantian refractory ceramic.
b. Konversi dari bahan bakar solar/diesel menjadi natural gas sejak tahun 2005.
c. Pemasangan scrubber di cerobong electroplating. Perusahaan pun memiliki rencana strategis dalam upaya pengurangan pencemar udara yakni menetapkan bahan bakar natural gas sebagai bahan bakar utama untuk semua fasilitas produksi dan menggunakan refrigerant AC yang ramah lingkungan.
