Sinopsis Kursus/Course Synopsis GGGB6333 Teori dalam Pengukuran dan Penilaian

Kursus ini bermula dengan sejarah dan seterusnya memperkenalkan berbagai-bagai teori dalam pengukuran dan penilaian. Teori-teori ini dijadikan asas dalam pemilihan pelbagai instrumen yang digunakan dalam penyelidikan, pendidikan, latihan dan bimbingan seperti ujian kecerdasan, ujian personaliti, ujian pencapaian dan ujian bakat. Penekanan juga diberi kepada cara-cara pentadbiran, pemberian markah dan penafsiran hasil ujian-ujian tersebut.

GGGB6333 Theory of Measurement and Evaluation

Beginning the course with its history, it develops in imparting the various theories encompassing measurement and evaluation. Using these theories as basis, various types of instruments used in research, education and guidance such as IQ test, personality test as well as achievement test. Emphasis will also be given on the administration of the tests, awarding of marks, and interpreting test results.

GGGE6633 Asas Pendidikan Matematik

Kursus ini merupakan prasyarat kepada kursus GE6643, Psikologi Pengajaran dan Pembelajaran Matematik. Ia bertujuan memberi pendedahan kepada pelajar tentang bidang-bidang dalam pendidikan yang mempunyai kaitan dengan amalan pengajaran dan pembelajaran matematik. Antara tajuk-tajuk yang dibincangkan ialah falsafah, kurikulum, psikologi, sosiologi, komunikasi, pedagogi, kemahiran berfikir dan penilaian dalam pendidikan matematik. Setiap tajuk akan dibincangkan secara am, diikuti dengan kepentingannya dalam pendidikan dan penyelidikan matematik. Selain itu, teori dan kajian lepas yang berkaitan akan turut dibincangkan. Pelajar akan diminta membuat kajian kecil berkaitan dengan tajuk kuliah.

GGGE6633 Foundation of Mathematics Education

This course is a pre-requisite to GE6643, Mathematics Teaching and Learning Psychology. This course is an exposure to the different fields in education related to mathematics’ teaching and learning. Among the course content are philosophy, curriculum, psychology, sociology, communication, thinking skills, pedagogy and

evaluation, theories and past research. Every topics discussed will be generally followed by its importance in education and mathematical research. Students are also required to do a mini-research in relation to the course topic

GGGE6643 Psikologi Pengajaran dan Pembelajaran Matematik

Kursus ini bertujuan untuk mendedahkan pelajar tentang pengajaran dan pembelajaran Matematik serta aspek-aspek psikologi yang berkaitan dengannya. Antara tajuk yang akan dibincangkan ialah kaedah am pengajaran, pengajaran Matematik berkesan, Model Pengajaran Gagne, motivasi pembelajaran, teori pemprosesan maklumat, teori perkembangan kognitif, teori pembelajaran Vygotsky, teori pembelajaran dan teori pembelajaran koperatif.

GGGE6643 Teaching and Learning Psychology in Mathematics

This is an advance course to GE6633 Foundation of Mathematics Education. This course is an exposure to teaching and learning of Mathematics and aspects of related psychology. Among the course content are general methods of teaching, effective Mathematics teaching, the Gagne teaching model, learning motivation, information processing theory, cognitive development theory, Vygotsky learning theory and co- operative learning theory.

GGGE6693 Penyelidikan Dalam Pendidikan Matematik

Kursus ini bertujuan untuk membolehkan pelajar mendapat pengetahuan dan kemahiran dalam aspek-aspek penyelidikan dalam pendidikan matematik. Pelajar diharap akan mendapat pegetahuan terkini hasil dari perbincangan dan kritikan mengenai penyelidikan

matematik yang diterbitkan dalam jurnal-jurnal seperti Journal for Research in Mathematics Education. Kursus akan dijalankan secara seminar dan perbincangan.

GGGE6693 Research in Mathematics Education

The purpose of this course is to impart knowledge and skills in research in mathematics education. Students are expected to retrieve new knowledge from the discourses, discussion and critics on research in mathematics published in journals like the Journal for Research in Mathematics Education (JRME). This course is conducted in the form of seminars and discussions.

GGGE6703 Sejarah Matematik

Kursus ini bertujuan untuk membolehkan pelajar mendapat pengetahuan dalam bidang sejarah perkembangan ilmu matematik serta dapat mengenali pakar matematik yang terlibat dalam perkembangan ilmu tersebut. Perkembangan matematik di Babylon, Yunani, Mesir, Cina, India, Tanah Arab dan Eropah dibincangkan. Disamping itu beberapa sarjana matematik yang terkenal seperti Euclid, Archimedes, Al Khawarizmi, Ibnu Sina, Ibnu Haitham, Gauss, Newton dan lain-lain diperkenalkan. Kursus ini dijalankan secara seminar. Pelajar akan membuat laporan dan pembentangan mengenai tugasan yang berkaitan dengan sejarah matematik.

GGGE6703 History of Mathematics

The purpose of this course is to import knowledge in the history of mathematics and its development as well as introducing them to great mathematicians. Among topics of discussion are the development of mathematics in Babylonic times, in Egypt, China, India, the Arabic world and Europe. Discussions will also involve discourses in Non- Euclidean Geometry, Mathematical Logics, Linear Agebra and Topology as well as renowed Mathematics scholars like Euclid, archimedes, Al-Khawarizmi, Ibn Sina, Ibn Haytham, Gauss, Newton etc. This course is conducted in the form of seminars. Students are required to prepare reports and presentations related to mathematics history.
