IInd Year
1st Year
These young braves and squaws were invited to fraternize with some of the more experienced ones who had paid the "supreme sacrifice" at the last "autumn," that they might remain to help our newly chosen fellows. The new arrivals were told of our great and popular leader - the Chief of Medicine Men, who had ruled us most wisely and well for many many moons. During the festivities our chief told many strange and wonderful stories, and the evening passed in merriment.
And now many moons have passed since we indulged in such festivities, and the time draws very near when we shall introduce our newer braves and squaws to the strange and wonderful medleys, the annual feast (for the brave only), and the dance , which we I hope the Freshers will lend a hand with the organization.
Women's Notes
It was necessary to impress upon these young and irresponsible braves that they should regard our order as a holy one (more holy than righteous), and that they should not divulge our secrets, lest spies from the numerous tribes outside should learn that we possessed but one "Faculty," for would not every one of our braves and squaws, having passed the rigorous training of their profession, be sent forth to take his or her place as the "Medicine Man" of these tribes in his neighborhood - to be both loved and feared and sometimes even hated by those who possessed several Faculties but could not gain access to the greatest of all Faculties. The tribe was well represented in the field of sports; Len Greer, Kevin Pearce, Bill Hughes, Arthur Keech and others feature every week with the Blacks and the Blues (appropriately named teams, right?). Several of our members attended a feast (exclusively for the brave) as a farewell gesture to our boss.
