ABSTRACT
The functions of transportation are to pick passenger and goods from one place
to another. The needs of transportation depend on personal place utility. People may
have a trip for personal need or business.
Activity of transportation in Kotamadya Medan shows that it has been increasing
fast. The increase of this activity absolutely is caused by the growth of the city as
quantitatively and with the growth of the population that related with increasing of
economic needs, also the enlargement of social and politic function it self to where the
region is served and followed by the development of the modem technology.
The economic development need enough and weIl deserved transportation,
without any transportation as supporting materials, it seems impossible to get
satisfactory results in economic developing for some countries. To develop the economy
from a country, it needs the optimum capacity of the transportation.
The transportation activities is a kind process of service that given from ones to
the other. Public transportation good service is services with peaceful, fast, cheap and
comfortable. Beside that Public transportation can make a job for people.
However, in this study, the writer does conduct the research for income for driver
bus in PT. Antar Lintas Sumatera with 30 samples. Where the factors are effecting work
hour, inter-city bus, demands.Finally, from the result of the research that has been
conducted is known the factors influencing income and the result of regression that has
been conducted by computer whit program SPSS is obtained the result that the factor
greatly is intensity of departure.
